Rear suspension

1. Raise the vehicle and remove the rear

wheels.
2. Undo the nut indicated and rotate the col-
lar securing the end section of the exhaust
pipe by 180°, so that it can be moved to-
wards the rear of the vehicle.
3. Undo the bolt securing the end section of
the exhaust pipe to the body shell on the
driver's side.
4. Undo the nut securing the exhaust pipe's
heat shield to the mounting bracket on the
driver's side, and the bolt securing the
shield to the body shell.
5. Undo the bolt securing the right bracket
mounting~ the exhaust pipe to the body
shell, then remove it from the vehicle.

1. Undo the two nuts (arrowed) and remove

the heat shield from the vehicle.
2. Disengage the handbrake cable from the
rear brake calipers.
3. Open the clips located on the suspension
to release the rigid brake pipes.
4. Undo the rigid pipe from the reservoir to
the brake equalizer and block it to avoid
discharging the system. Carry out the op-
eration on both sides of the vehicle.
6. Undo the bolts (arrowed), carrying out
the operation on both sides of the vehicle,
and remove the anti-roll bar. When refit-
ting, bolt A must be tightened to a torque
of 6.6 daNm and bolts B to a torque of 3
daNm.

1. Disconnect the connector shown, carry-

ing out the operation on both sides of the
vehicle.
2. Mount the tool 1870602000 on the hy-
draulic jack.
3. Place the hydraulic jack below the vehicle
and fix it on the suspension as shown in
the figure.
4. Undo the bolt securing the front of the
suspension to the body shell on both sides
of the vehicle. When refitting, tighten to a
torque of 10 daNm.
5. Undo the bolt securing the rear of the sus-
pension to the body shell on both sides of
the vehicle. When refitting, tighten to a
torque of 10 daNm.

Wheel geometry

Check wheel geometry after carrying out the following checks on components with an influence on
wheel geometry:
- tyre inflation pressure;
- wheel rim eccentricity and squareness must not exceed 3 mm;
- wheel bearing axial clearance;
- clearance between strut and wishbone pivot pin;
- steering link pivot pin clearance.

If the toe-in is not as specified, adjust

the steering box links after loosening the
retaining nuts.
If wheel camber is not as specified, carry
out a check on the car body.

REAR WHEEL GEOMETRY

The wheel geometry must be checked after the following checks have been carried out:
- tyre pressures;
- the eccentricity and out-of-true of the wheel rims must not exceed 3 mm;
- wheel bearing endfloat.

CAMBER (not adjustable)

If the rear wheel angles measured are not as above, they cannot be adjusted because the rear suspension
consists of a rigid beam.
