1. Undo the nuts and bolts securing the front
section of the exhaust pipe to the exhaust
3'-- manifold.
2. Remove the front section of the exhaust
pipe after undoing the nuts securing its
mounting bracket to the oil sump.
3. Undo the two nuts (arrowed) and disen-
gage the cable and its sheath from the
clutch linkage.
4. Disengage the reaction strut from its
\ bracket, undoing the nut indicated by the
black arrow.
Release the gear selector cable balljoint
shown by the white arrows from its brack-
et, and after removing the clip (A) with-
draw the cable from its mounting.
5. Remove the earth cable and disconnect
the connector from the reversing lights
switch on the gearbox.

1. Remove the left wheelarch from its seat-
ing after undoing the bolts securing it to
the body shell.
2. Remove the left drive shaft by undoing the
bolts indicated by the black arrows, which
secure it to the differential flange, and dis-
engage the left stub axle from its shock
absorber after undoing the bolts shown by

the white arrows which join the two parts.
3. Position and tie the drive shaft as shown in

the figure to facilitate the withdrawal of the
gearbox.
4. Remove the right drive shaft and release
the right stub axle from its shock absorber.
5. Unto the bolts securing the starter motor
mounting to the gearbox bellhousing.
