TIGHTENING WISHBONE BOLTS TO

CORRECTTORQUE

The bolts securing the wishbone must be

tightened to the correct torque with the
wishbone in the position of theoretical de-
sign load. The wheels will therefore have to
be fitted to the vehicle, and the vehicle
placed on ramps.
The theoretical design load conditions are
obtained by ballasting the car as appropriate
until the distance between the maximum
point of curvature of the front bumper and
the ground (passing through the centre of
the wheel) is 631 mm.
This operation is essential to ensure correct
operation. of the front suspension, and to
avoid premature damage to the rubber bush-
es on the wishbone.
