Assertiveness and motivation:

1. Describe several work standards that you have set for yourself in past jobs. Why are these
important to you?

I have set several standards in my previous jobs that were pretty focused on how to achieve goals by
completing my tasks on time, my interaction with my team mates and to deliver quality service that
would increase productivity in the organization.

2. Tell me a time when you have experienced a lack of motivation. What caused this? What did
you do about it?

When I did my internship for a month in an organization, I felt demotivated sometime by my seniors as
they thought I am clumsy at work and unable to perform my task on time. It was quite demotivating but
I have learned from my mistakes and tried to be a better person by performing my task on time and
deliver quality service to my managers.

3. Describe a situation where you had to deal with someone whom you felt was dishonest. How
did you handle it?

At my internship, I met several personalities whom I felt was dishonest to me but I had enough
tolerance to deal with them and tried to ignore them to avoid any negative influences instead of I have
taken that situation positively and worked with them by understanding them.

4. Describe a situation that made you extremely angry. How did you react?

There was a time when I was assigned with an important task although I worked on that project day and
night so that my manager would be happy but they didn’t appreciate me instead configure my mistakes.
That situation makes me really angry but I stayed calm because I was learning at that time.

5. Tell me about a time that best illustrates your ability to “stick things out” in a tough situation.

During my time in organization, I was part of a team so I always tried to amend things around. I used to
motivate them time by time and reminding them of their duties that could make them productive and
efficient.

6. Describe a time when you motivated an unmotivated person to do something you wanted
them to do.

We had team member who never contributed his services much, in order to motivate him for work I
used to stop by his office and told him about his hidden skills that I have noticed. I gave him attention for
two or three weeks and after that he started contributing his own creative and innovative ideas.

7. Give me an example of a time when you were affected by organization politics. How did you
react?

During my internship, I faced organizational politics. Some employees tried to degrade me and tried to
lower my motivation while I was working with some important task. But I completely ignored them and
tried to develop good relationships by understanding the internal network. I completely focused on my
work and answered them with actions.
8. Give me an example of when someone tried to take advantage of you. How did you react?

No it didn’t happen to me because I was doing internship so my interaction with the people was limited
but it is better to avoid such type of people and do not get involved with them.
