CHAPTER I

PRELIMINARY
A. Backgroud
The word “Geometry” comes from the Greek word meaning “size of the earth”.
The meaning includes everything on earth. Geometry is a science that discusses the
relationship between points, lines, angles, planes and shapes. Studying geometry is
important because geometry has become a major tool for teaching the art of thinking.
With the passage of time, geometry has developed into knowledge that is structured in an
interesting and logical manner. Geometry comsist primarily of a series of statements
about points, lines, and planes, as well as planar (plane projection) and solid bodies.
Geometry starts from undefined terms, definitios, axioms, postulates and then theorems.
Historically, geometry has had many important applications, for example in surveying
land, building bridges, buildinng space stations an so on.
Geometry is the first system for understanding ideas. In geometry some simple
statements are assumed, and then drawn into more complex statements. Such a system is
called a deductive consequence and logic that can be used throughout life. In defining a
word, first a simpler word is in turn defined into a simpler word, so that in the end, the
process will end. At some level, the definition must use a word whose meaning is very
clear, this is because the meaning is accepted without the need for another definition, in
other words it can be called an undefined term.
B. Problem Formula
Base on the background that has been outline, the formula of the problems that
will be discussed in this paper is:
1. What is the definition of lines and angles?
2. What is the relationship between the lines?
3. How to divide a line segment into several equal parts?
4. What is the relationship between angles?
5. How to paint special angles?
C. Purpose of Writing
Based on the problem formulation, the purpose of writing this paper is:
1. To find out the definition of lines and angles.
2. To find out the relationship between the lines.
3. To find out a line segment into several equal parts.
4. To find out the relationship between the angles.
5. To find out how to paint special angles.

CHAPTER III
CLOSING
A. Conclusion
A line consists of a set of points and is a subset of planes. A line segment is the
part of a line that is surrounded by two distinct end and consists of every point on the line
between the two ends. Depending on how the line segment is defined, one of the two
ends may or may not be part of the line segment. Two or more line segments can have the
same relationship as a line, such as parallel, intersection, or slope.
An angle is a shape formed by two lines that intersect around their point of
intersection. The point of intersection is also known as the vertex or vertex. Like a right
angle that we can see in the window. Angles are very important in human life. Humans
can make clocks, houses, buildings, roofs, tunnels, and bridges because they know the
rules of angles. Without the correct angle, these buildings will collapse and cause losses
as well as loss of life.
B. Suggestion
It is hoped that by studying lines and angles, the ability of logic will be further
honed and spur us to think logically, and do not make mathematics as something scary to
learn because methematics is a very close part that is inseparable form our lives.
