2. Course objectives:

Know aware of the fundamental principles of lighting technology; Presenting the knowledge of lighting lamps;
Understanding of color uniformity and illumination homogeneity; Calculating color uniformity and illumination

homogeneity; Studying color coordinates for applying; Choosing the control devices and luminaires; Using the Dialux
software and techniques to provide a practical approach to efficient and effective lighting for lighting systems (2D and 3D).
Apply to design, calculate and visualize light professionally – single room whole floors, buildings and outdoor scenes;
Having the skills in selecting lamps, control devices and luminaires; Understanding how to simulate lighting by Dialux 4

and Dialux Having skills in remedying the simulation that did not achieve the desired results; Use proficiently in AutoCAD
software and can read drawing.
3 Analysiz and evaluate the lighting devices, lighting technology to select a suiltable solution for domestic and industries.

4. Brief course content:

This course introduces basic techniques for calculating and designing lighting systems. In particular, students will be learned the basic
concepts of light technology, steps of lighting design in indoor and outdoor lighting, and choice of light sources. In addition, lighting
design in some special cases will be presented in this course. Moreover, the student will be studied about software programs such as
Dialux Evo, Luxicon, and Ulysee.

5. Student’s tasks:

 Attend:
- Attend at least 80% of classes. Being late 02 times is equivalent to 01 absence. Students who fail to attend at least 80% of classes will be
prohibited from taking the final exam.
 Complete:
- Read the textbook and references as required; read more references to acquire more knowledge.
- Submit the homework and assignments before due time.

 Participate:
- Pay attention to the lectures, participate actively and cooperatively in class activities organized by the instructor.
- Willing to give comments or discuss on the topics that instructor introduces in class.
- Take all quizzes, tests in class as well as mid-term exam and final exam.
