Nicolas Building, Burgos St., Tacloban City, Leyte and will begin operation in October. Natal Needs
acknowledges the lack of ob gyne services in the community that is inclined to the specific needs of soon-to-be
mothers and mothers who seek help for their maternal health. This is where Natal Needs embraces these

Prenatal care can help keep the mother and their baby healthy. Babies of mothers who do not get prenatal
care are three times more likely to have a low birth weight and five times more likely to die than those born to
mothers who do get care.

For many women, the extra expenses of prenatal care and preparing for the new baby are overwhelming. That

Marketing Aspect
A. The Marketing Strategy
1. Target customers

Natal Needs is a healthcare facility inclined towards the specific prenatal needs and care of our
clients who are pregnant women of any age. These are the clients that are in need of assistance throughout
their pregnancy, and those who value community and the contributions of their peers. Since Natal Needs may
become their care facility and a 2nd home for their pregnancy, we especially are seeking pregnant clients
willing to make this facility a home, and learn from and teach from each other. The target clients are only those
who are living in Tacloban City since the business will start at a small scale. This is to ensure profitability, given
the fact that the business is just beginning.

2. Positioning strategy (9 months, Preparing you for the love of a lifetime)

Mostly with the difficulty to find an adequate prenatal service care within the market, Natal Needs’ main
completion are fully functioning clinics within the vicinity that offer similar services. However, business
opportunities can look into certain services that some competitors still offer with reasonable and affordable
prices that are budget friendly than other competitors.

The focus of providing quality care for the mother and her journey to pregnancy, are one of the primary
objectives of the company. Natal Needs gives convenient access towards the mother’s journey and giving care
together with her baby. With a reasonable price of services unlike its competitors. Even with the advantage,
Natal Needs still can keep up with its quality of service similar to its competitors with high prices. With the
advent of prices going up and services also stalking up with inflation. Customers nowadays prefer practical and
cheap products that still give quality and are at par with prices that are higher.

Natal Needs gives visual identification to what services it gives through its brand logo. The logo of the
company contains the name of the company with an image of a baby’s hand giving a grasp reflex to its mother.
The baby with the grasp reflex symbolizes the care and preparation towards giving quality services for the
mother to be, the light touch it gives signifies that in her journey towards pregnancy has ended and the fruits of
that journey is seen through that sign of love and the bond between the mother and her child.

The company also communicates the brand through mediums such as promotional activities.
Presenting the features of the product through posters, brochures, graphic design artists, social media
advertisements and personal selling in order to differentiate the company from those of its competitors. With
the company’s tagline that aims to catch attention to customers. The taglines message, preparing the mother
not only for the 9 months in her journey but the journey that would bring love for a lifetime to her child. A
healthy baby that creates a lasting bond of a lifetime. Aside from the services offered, promotional activities
6

also serve a purpose in convincing customers to buy the services and products offered with its given selling
price.

B. The Marketing Mix Decisions

1. Product offering, product mix, product line

The entrepreneurs in charge of Natal Needs will focus on providing proficient and gentle care to ob-
gyne patients. The type of service that company offers is a differentiated product. Which means that the
services provided have almost the same benefits to those of the competitors’ products but with additional
benefits on the special aspect of the service. This additional benefit pertains to how Natal Needs can provide
ob-gyne packages such as Primera Package, Prenatal Ultrasound Package and Early Phase Screening.
These packages are not only affordable but worth it, since these packages offer a wide variety of tests so that
our patient can choose from which suits them best. Natal Needs always performs in its utmost best capability
for each client.

When doing business, observation is always made first, in order to know if the services are profitable or
not. Improvisation of the service can also be implemented. After 6 years of operation, the entrepreneurs may
choose to expand business operations through offering additional new services that will be included in the line
of service. Natal Needs is always open for partnership with different institutions and health care professionals.

2. Pricing decisions

There are lots of variables that may affect the price of a product. Some factors that affect these include
brands of product used, its demand in the market, frequency, and competition. The price of Natal Needs varies
for each service package. Entrepreneurs’ services are not merely simple for it has several features that makes
it distinct compared to others in the market. The entity decided for the usage of cost-plus pricing under cost
based approach wherein the price will be based on the total amount of direct cost plus the overhead cost and
the percentage of the profit margin. This decision is made since Natal Needs is just about to begin operation.

There are three packages that Natal Needs offer, with the following prices listed below:

● Primera Package - P3,250

● Prenatal Ultrasound Package - P2,950
● Early Phase Screening - P2,060

3. Distribution decisions
The business people have chosen to put the business area in the business' neighborhood at Burgos Street,
2rd Floor Natal Needs, San Nicolas Building, Tacloban City, Leyte. The business is at the focal point of
Tacloban City Downtown Area which gives the business a benefit in acquiring likely clients.

For the dissemination of the services, customers can avail different services walk in, through appointment or
in-home services. The business is open 24/7. The business acknowledges in-home services within Tacloban
City. That way, the services will be reachable and effectively available for the customers. Since the business
entrepreneur just cater limited customers, the dispersion procedure that has been utilized is the restricted
conveyance, wherein just limited quantities of customers can benefit the services since the business is
beginning little as of now. Likewise, when the business has balanced out and guaranteed a consistent inflow of
benefit, the business entrepreneur might choose to offer more services to the customers.
7

4. Promotion decisions
The entrepreneurs have decided to use four promotional tools in advertising the product to attract more
customers. These tools include social media marketing, direct marketing through brochures, advertising with
the use of posters, and personal selling. A schedule of activities for the implementation of the promotional tools
and the budget plan for each are ready and waiting to be implemented.

C. Company Marketing Strategy

1. Target market

Demographics:

Pregnant women; experienced mothers or first-time moms are the target client of this business. Various
packages are offered at a reasonable price to attract the customers.

Psychographics:

Pregnant women who are willing to entrust Natal Needs in providing holistic & fine-quality service about
maternal healthcare. The entrepreneurs aim to draw customers who are in need of their provided services
through establishment of a concrete connection with the client.

Behaviors:

The target market of Natal Needs are those who weigh benefits of the services offered. The main idea of
the business focuses on catering the needs of mothers during their entire pregnancy journey.

2. Proposed products
The proposed services of the business are in a form of packages we call OB-GYN Packages. We have
primera packages like transvaginal ultrasound, pap smear and breast ultrasound. We also propose what we
call the prenatal ultrasound package in every trimester, there may be transvaginal ultrasound, pelvic ultrasound
for determination of the offspring’s gender and also for biophysical profile. For the early phase of pregnancy
also for the confirmation of pregnancy, we propose an early phase screening like complete blood count,
urinalysis, blood typing, HBsAg Rapid Test, Rapid Plasma Reagin, rubella igG screening and a random blood
sugar test. The Natal Needs comes in a variety of health care services which is why it has the advantage from
its competitors.

3. Promotional Activities
The entrepreneurs used various types of business promotions that would make their services known to the
public leading to more inquiries. The entrepreneurs considered the utilization of social media marketing, public
mass advertising and direct marketing.

I. Social Media Marketing

A. Facebook
No wonder why Facebook is the best social media marketing because most Filipinos spend a lot
of time on Facebook than any other site. Advertisements drive immediate results and reach
thousands of people. It is faster and cheap than almost every alternative source of advertising.
8

The entrepreneurs would also be able to track their media marketing progress by managing the
business page: impressions and clicks would be recorded. It’s also easy to go viral with
advertising because it increases word-of-mouth referrals and most likely users would likely refer
the services to their friends.

B. Youtube
Youtube has grown over the years and there is no doubt that advertising with this social media
platform will fail due to the great number of users. Advertising with this costs less and less time
consuming compared to other social channels as there is no minimum spend to request
advertisement. It also helps to reach a precise audience, including demographic age, gender
and parental status by targeting affinity audiences, the entrepreneurs can ensure the
advertisements reach people who have already demonstrated an interest in specific topics
linked to the brand services. Youtube also allows the use of contextual placements to show
advertisements on specific videos, channels and websites.

C. Tiktok
The entrepreneurs decided to choose Tiktok due its rise of popularity recently and because of
its wide range of audience through Tiktok ads. This social media platform also allows users to
create content of the services offered by the entrepreneurs like branded hashtag challenges that
traps in user passion for creation and expression for strong brand awareness with a level of
engagement that goes beyond a click. Collaboration with influencer marketing is also possible to
promote brand via content that has the highest potential reach and gain following. Tiktok users
would also be able to create content of the experience if using the services to increase brand
awareness to the public. It also allows the users’ search history to tailor clips that go on their
screen, which is the best feature of Tiktok advertising.

II. Poster Advertising

While it is important for the entrepreneurs to build a brand presence in the social media sites, there still
remains a great majority of individuals who do not use social media or do not use it entirely, advertising with
posters in public is an excellent mode to increase awareness of the brand services. The public tend to rely
more on posters than on social media awareness alone. Posters across the street is a cheap mode of
advertising and provides an alternate size for the mass to see. It is an on-going and long-term exposure for
referrals and can be distributed flexibly in highly populated areas such as high-traffic areas wherein most
people would stop and see.

III. Brochures (Direct Marketing)

Another easy to distribute type of advertisement is brochures. This allows the entrepreneurs to
strategically place in a wide variety of locations and to relay positive and accurate information to people and
attract consumers. Brochures are budget-friendly and builds trust from the readers since these hold a lot of
information about the brand services offered and show how devoted the entrepreneurs are and how they care.
It also personalizes the brand because of the design implemented on the brochure and to print frequently-
asked-questions for curious consumers to know. For busy individuals, this is the best option because it can be
read anytime.

IV. Graphic Designer/Artist

Since the entrepreneurs lack the skill of graphic designing, availing graphic design services is an
excellent decision, not only does it saves time and saves money by knowing exactly the most cost effective
9

ways to design material to keep the printing costs to a minimum. In order to stand out from the rest of the
brand, services with excellent graphic designs will raise the business above competition with other businesses.
Hiring graphic designers would make the designs consistent and uniform across everything to avoid confusion.
Rest assured that the designs imagined by the entrepreneurs would be properly implemented and showcased
by graphic designers due to their high level of expertise in the field.

D. Budget

The total allocation of budget for the promotional activities is Php 9,600

I. Social Media Marketing

The company will allocate a budget of 6,400 for the social media marketing and for the advertisements
for 1 week. For the video production, we’ve allocated a budget of Php 4,000 for the production
designer, film director and film editor.

a. Facebook
The amount to be spent for facebook advertisement is 700 with the allocated budget of 800,
which costs up to Php 100 per day. The company will create Facebook pages, post videos and
pictures to promote Natal Care.

b. Youtube
The amount to be spent for youtube advertisement is 700 with the allocated budget of 800,
which costs up to Php 100 per day. The company will create a channel and post promotional
videos that will showcase our services.

c. Tiktok
The amount to be spent for tiktok advertisement is 700 with the allocated budget of 800, which
costs up to Php 100 per day. The company will create a page, post videos and pictures to

II. Poster Advertising

(400) copies which will be distributed to various barangays in Tacloban city.

III. Brochures (Direct Marketing)

The company will allocate a budget of Php 1,600. The amount would be enough to garner (400) copies.
