Chapter 3 – Assessment of the OJT Program

3.1 Technical Learning from the OJT experience

My virtual internship in Erovoutika was challenging because of pandemic and the device
that I use and difficulty in my internet connection. But the company provide us all the
information that we will need, they invited us to join their task assistant using the Trello
app. Where we can see our team members, administration, and the given task to each
one of us. Including the video tutorials that will be a big help in doing our tasks. The main
technical learning I have gain is creating my own website using wix, the basic was
adding fields to my website page and make a log in or registration form there. Adding a
paid plan where I can make money out of it. I was able to learn the wix code while doing
website for lessor. Using those codes will give a custom log in page or custom member
page. It was hard to learn on your own and having a device that gives you headache and
will reach the end point of your patience.

3.2 Experience with colleagues in the company

It was sad that we were not able to experience working with colleagues in personal. But
during the orientation, Engr. Kevin Evaristo, the president of the company was very
welcoming and approachable. He gave use chance to choose where we think we are
good at and group us into teams. He did his best to explain every details of the things we
need to do. But of course, as a president he was not able to be there all the time to
answers our questions. It was a good thing that I have my teammates who are also my
friend and school mates, I can ask them about something I do not understand.

3.3 Most memorable experience

I think the most memorable experience for me was when I finished my first task and
during one of our meeting with Sir Kevin. I never thought I could do it without some
teaching me how to do it, but I did. The meeting with Sir Kevin was very inspirational, as
a president he was very humble and understanding. He will not pressure you, but he will
encourage you to do better and be better. And will give us confident that we can do
every task that will be given to us.

3.4 Recommendations of the OJT program

If ever you going to take a virtual internship, you should practice the time management.
Choose topics that will challenge you and enhance your capability and skills. Especially
if you already have a field in mind that you wanted to go.

3.5 Advice to future undertakers of OJT

To the future undertakers of OJT, think of it like you are now looking for a real job and it
will give you a big experience that will help you in the future. Prepare all the things you
will need before applying, be humble but show them that you are confident with the skills
that you have that you can share to their company. Do not give up but take a break
when you need it, take all your task as a challenge and not as a problem. And be
yourself.
