MESSAGE FROM
BOARD ADVISOR
“It is not always about looking forward to what is ahead of you. Sometimes it is all
about looking back at the things that de ne you.” Tabasum
De ning the Primary School is a complex task, but when one breaks it down, the
common denominator is clear. We are all about people – we are about our reliance
on people connecting to make a difference for our children. This is the essence
of why all of us are here. It is about, as our Head of School says, ‘developing
outstanding people.’
The Maori people, the Tangatawhenua ( rst people of the land), have a wonderful
saying; “Tuia te rangi e tu iho nei, Tuia te papa e takoto nei.” Loosely translated t
his means that as the sky joins to earth, so people join together. In other words,
people depend on one another. A de ning feature of our school is our reliance
on one another.

Describe in French Activity
During Trips Week we had nearly 600 students take part in exciting and culturally diverse
journeys of self discovery. Our CAS programme has continued to expand as students in
Grade 11 have developed new events andprojects and improved the organization
and quality of existing events like Relay for life, TEDx, and Model United Nations..
There were many other highlights to note: A new format for Field Day that was
implemented by our increasingly empowered MS and HS Student Councils.
The House Teams added a new dimension to the day, and the new events balanced sports
with other skills and interests such as Scrabble, Theatre Games, and Pictionary! Forensics
debuted as a new forum for our debating and performance focussed students!
The annual musical was a sidesplittingly funny pantomime which sold out on all three
nights! And nally, with our sports teams also growing in stature and popularity,
PRIYA RAMTEKE One of the highlights of this year has been our authorisation as an
IB World School for the MYP. We received a glowing report about
ANTHONY WRIGHT our programme from our visitors, and we are excitedly looking
forward to next year as the MYP grows into Grade 9
