-provinces

Located in the central part of the Visayas island group. Region 7 consists of four provinces – Bohol, Cebu,
Negros Oriental, and Siquijor, highly urbanized cities and developing municipalities.

Bohol - officially the Province of Bohol is an island province of the Philippines located in the
Central Visayas region, consisting of the island itself and 75 minor surrounding islands.

Its capital is Tagbilaran. With a land area of 4,821 km2 (1,861 sq mi) and a coastline 261 km (162 mi)
long, Bohol is the tenth largest island of the Philippines.

Cebu - Cebu City, officially the City of Cebu is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Central
Visayas region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of
964,169 people, making it the sixth-most populated city in the nation and the most populous
in the Visayas. It is the regional center and primate city of Central Visayas and seat of
government of the province of Cebu, but governed independently. The city and its
metropolitan area exerts influence on commerce, trade, industry, education, culture, tourism
& healthcare beyond the region, over the entire Visayas and partly over Mindanao.

Negros oriental - is a province in the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region. Its capital is the
city of Dumaguete. It occupies the southeastern half of the large island of Negros, and borders Negros
Occidental, which comprises the northwestern half. It also includes Apo Island, a popular dive site for
both local and foreign tourists. Negros Oriental faces Cebu to the east across the Tañon Strait and
Siquijor to the south-east (which happened to be part of the province before).
The primary spoken language is Cebuano and the predominant religious denomination is Roman
Catholicism. Dumaguete City is the capital, seat of government and most populous city of the province.

Siquijor - officially the Province of Siquijor is an island province in the Philippines located in the
Central Visayas region. Its capital is the municipality also named Siquijor. To the north of Siquijor is
Cebu, to the west is Negros, northeast is Bohol, and to the south, across the Bohol Sea, is
Mindanao. During the Spanish colonial period of the Philippines, the Spaniards called the island Isla
del Fuego (Island of Fire). Siquijor is commonly associated with mystic traditions that the island's
growing tourism industry capitalizes on.
-attractions

The Chocolate Hills are a geological formation in the Bohol province of the Philippines. There are at least
1,260 hills but there may be as many as 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square
kilometers. They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, hence the name.
The Chocolate Hills is a famous tourist attraction of Bohol. They are featured in the provincial flag and
seal to symbolize the abundance of natural attractions in the province. They are in the Philippine
Tourism Authority's list of tourist destinations in the Philippines; they have been declared the country's
third National Geological Monument and proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Kawasan falls

Kawasan has many waterfalls. The first one is the largest of the three, and is usually the most
crowded. An uphill climb for fifteen minutes will take you to the second falls, and another, and
another. Its a good idea to bring in your own food, the resort’s restaurants are not cheap and
prices are not marked. We ran into problems with the prices getting higher as the day went on.

Cottages (1,500 to 2,500 php) and tables (500php) are also available for rent, the rooms are for
overnight stay. You can rent a raft (300 php) to take you around the “pool” or for a refreshing
“shower massage” under the falling water. Life vests are also available for rent. The pathway
back is very dark once the sun sets so its best to bring a flashlight. You should be extra careful in
going down the slope especially the one descending from the second or third falls to avoid
mishaps or accidents.

Kawasan Falls is a great get-away destination in the southern part of Cebu for family’s and
gatherings.

CANTABON CAVE

Siquijor – Philippines

Located roughly in the center of the island, the Cantabon Cave can be found at the mountainous side of
Mt. Bandila-an in the Barangay of Cantabon. The cave is one of the most visited tourist destination in
the island of Siquijor with its impressing 800-meter-long cave.

What to expect in Cantabon cave?

A refreshing garden can be seen at the entrance before the Cantabon Cave. Be prepared to bend, slide,
flex, crawl, be wet and dirty. But most of all prepare to be amazed. Bring waterproofing devices to
protect your phones, cameras and other gadgets since the ceiling has continuous water drips. One can
wear slippers; however, appropriate aqua shoes and sandals are highly recommended.

Everything in the cave is extremely eye catching and thrilling. Some areas to look forward to is the
terraces formation, “King’s Bed”, “Shower Bell” and the “Angel’s Bath”. The “King’s Bed” is a made of
rich white mineral with clear waters that sparkles when lights hit it while the “Shower Bell” is a stalactite
that has an odd shape of a bell. Water flows that flows under the ‘bell’ is said to be healing water and is
drinkable as recommended by the tour guides. No major cases have been reported regarding the water,
therefore it is safe. The “Angel’s Bath” on the other hand is made of a small pool that forms an angel
wing.
Casaroro Falls

In the town of Valencia, Negros Oriental located 9.4 kilometers west of Dumaguete City lies the
beautiful Casaroro Falls considered to be the most photographed waterfall in the entire Negros
province.

Casaroro Falls is lodged deep into the rock crevices of the rugged Valencia mountains. With an
astounding height of 100 feet, the water plunges into a deep cold basin before it flows down to a
stream. The waterfall is considerably narrow, instead of the usual wide cascade, but this is precisely
what makes Casaroro unique. Though despite its narrowness, the volume of water that drops is heavy
and causes a roar as it touches the pool. Around the basin are natural boulders huge enough to rest any
traveler’s weary feet.
