Instructions: Slide Tagging Validation and Correction
Instructions: Slide Tagging Validation and Correction
Steps:
Review the Tagged Slide Content
Look at the slide and see if all the contents in the slide are in boxes.
Check if the boxes are too tight as some of the content is cut with the line of
the box.
Click on the box to confirm if each of them is correctly tagged with categories
below (there are many colors and some look similar, so please be extra
careful):
The tagged bounding box contents are categorize as one of the nine
categories (refer to image examples)
1. Title: presentation title (usually found on a title side), slide title (title of the current
slide); not every
slide will have a title. Be careful not to confuse slide title with a caption of a figure,
image, diagram, or table. Slide titles are usually on the top and in larger fonts
2. Figure: graphs with data points and coordinates; capture the entire figure
including any obj-text and captions
drawing: picture drawn with pencil or pen or generated by a computer graphics application
logo: a symbol or small design adopted by an organization; a logo can be a graphic, text, or a combination
of both
map: a graphical representation of an area of land or sea
screenshot: an image of an electronic device screen such as your desktop or browser
realistic image: image captured in the real world (indoor or outdoor), an example would be a photograph
of a person or outdoor scenery
7. Page-text: text in slide, bullet-point text list, text list ordered using alphabetical or
numerical indexing
8. Obj-text: text that is inside a figure, table, image, diagram or text box; examples
are legend for graph or data along the x and y axis of a graph
Click "Yes" if everyting tagged properly and move on to the next slide for validation
and correction.
Delete the bounding box: select the bounding box by right-clicking on the outline of
the bounding box, and then click on the "X" on the top right corner of the bounding
box to delete.
Move your bounding box: select the bounding box, then right-click on the outline
and hold and move to move the bounding box.
Change the category of bounding box: select the bounding box, and the category
selection below will darken. Now, you can select a different category
Resize your bounding box: select the bounding box, then right-click again and hold
on the top-left corner, bottom-left corner, or bottom-right corner, then drag to resize
your bounding box.
Tag content with a bounding box and select content category: select an area in
the slide to be tagged with a bounding box by left-clicking on your mouse, hold, and
drag around the area you want to select.
Once you've selected the area, the category section below the image will darken.
Select 1 of the 9 categories below. Once you click on your selected category, the
color of the bounding box will change to the category you’ve selected. If you want
change the category, just click on another category.
Refer to the examples below to see how different slides are tagged and content
categorized.
If there are numerous areas to tag, it is okay for bounding boxes to overlap one
another (refer to the 3rd example below)
If an area is small and difficult to create a bounding box, use the enlarge and reduce
slide size button on the lower right corner of the slide screen.
WARNING: if you click the reduce“-“ button too fast, the final click might reduce the
slide viewing screen size as well, and if you are still clicking that area, the image shift
could have you accidently clicking on “reset annotations” which will remove
everything you’ve tagged. Please click on “-“ slowly to reduce the slide size.
Once you've made the corrections, click “Confirm” to proceed to the next image.
Note that the colors of the bounding boxes will differ in the job. The different colors here are
just help you understand the distinction between different tagging categories.
