Performance Task No. 1: Guided Journal Reflection - Personal Experiences of

Manifestation and Expression of Excellence

1. What is excellence?

- The act of doing better than your usual best. Doing things as if it’s your last
and excel in it.

2. How did you show or manifest excellence as a student, as a person?

- The only person who can help us to keep up in everything, is no other than
ourselves only. We only got ourselves, it is only us at the end of the day.
Trusting in ourselves is a one big step to make. It is not an easy and a normal
thing to do everyday, people are still anxious about this. We all have our
fears, comfort zones, and limitations. Comfort zones are called comfort zones
for a reason, it protects us from our fears. However, it’s not permanent.
Anytime, you need to get out and take different risks everyday. Taking risks is
definitely difficult, but no one could help you but only yourself. Of all the things
you’ll do in a daily basis, why not make it with all your best? If you’re just
gonna do a normal thing, why not make it the best as if it’s the last? You don’t
need to pressure yourself, but it won’t hurt to try things. Don’t be afraid to
show your best and anything you’re capable of. Remember that ‘atleast’ is
better than ‘what if’.

3. EAC defined Excellence as ‘the habit of doing only the best in all
undertakings.’ What are your habits that constantly or will eventually lead
to excellence? What are the habits you need to discontinue or taper down
as they serve as hindrances for you to excel?

- Whenever I do essays, I always get lazy and think that I don’t need to
express too much details but I realized that there’s no harm in adding too
much details and it might lead me to a great grades. People around me
always look up to me when it comes to foreign languages and it gives me
courage to excel more. I read and watch different things that includes
foreign languages to help me improve my knowledge.
