MM PROGRAM
MAJOR IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
SYLLABUS FOR
JOPR 255 – PURCHASING AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Trimester 5 Batch 36
Academic Year 2018/2019-SHORT
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Purchasing & supply involves all of those management processes and operations
needed to ensure that an organisation is able to obtain cost-effectiveness from outside
sources all of the products and services that it requires. However, despite the
significant cost of bought-in goods and services for most firms, the purchasing & supply
function has not always been recognised as a key contributor to enterprise
competitiveness and profitability.
The objective of this PSCM course is to promote the competitiveness of enterprises
through better purchasing & supply management. Some of the course materials are
based on The Total Supply Chain concept provided by the International Trade Centre
(UNCTAD/WTO), where Prasetiya Mulya Business School is one of the authorised
license holders. See: http://www.scm-learningnet.org for more information.
