DC Voltage and Current measurement

OBJECTIVE
1. Determine the voltage and current in each resistors.

SIMULATION SOFTWARE
NI Multisim version 14.1

• Resistor 1 = 220 ohms


• Resistor 2 = 510 ohms
• Resistor 3 = 750 ohms
• Resistor 4 = 220 ohms
• Resistor 5 = 470 ohms
• Resistor 6 = 820 ohms

PROCEDURE

1. Using the designated software, construct the circuit shown in Figure 1.3
2. Click on the simulation button.
3. Measure the total resistance Rem of the circuit by replacing the voltage source
with an ohmmeter and record the value in Table 1.1
4. Calculate the value of the total resistance Rec and record the value in Table 1.1.
5. Compare the measured value with the calculated value.
6. Measure the total current of the circuit and record the value in Table 1.1.
7. Calculate the total current and record the value in Table 1.1.
8. Compare the measured current value with the calculated value.
9. Measure the current Ix and Iy of the circuit and record the values in Table 1.2.
10. Calculate the current Ix and Iy of the circuit and record the values in Table 1.3.
11. Measure the voltage across each resistor and record the value in Table 1.2.
12. Calculate the voltage across each resistor and record the value in Table 1.3.
13. Calculate Vsource and record the value in Table 1.1
