 THEORY is a

system of explanations that ties together a whole bunch of facts. It not only explains
those facts, but predicts what you ought to find from other observations and experiments.”

 Pooh-pooh Theory

 POOH-POOH: The basis for the “pooh-pooh” theory holds true to the involuntary nature of human
speech. Through emotional response, language and speech would have developed in tandem with
human interaction and primitive emotional reactions. Such sounds as “wa wa wa” or “ha ha ha,”
commonly used to denoted crying or pain and happiness or laughter, respectively, would then
develop into a more unique and case-specific series of sounds in association with other emotions
and interactions (Vadja).
The problem with this hypothesis, however, is that exclamations, such as the emotional responses
that one might associate with these “pooh-pooh” phrases, are in fact dependent on language instead of
a basis through which language can be created. For instance, the essence of emotional response for pain
is “ouch” in English, “oi” in Russian and “eee” in Cherokee (Vadja). If there was a generalized emotional
response that all people made independently of each other, then perhaps there would be some
legitimacy to the argument. But those noises that we all do make based on the stimuli of sneezes or
hiccups cannot demonstrate a common linguistic nature between peoples.
Another problem with this theory is that no language contains very many interjections, and,
Crystal points out, "the clicks, intakes of breath, and other noises which are used in this way bear little
relationship to the vowels and consonants found in phonology."

 It states that the language came from intense emotion.

 The pooh-pooh theory suggests that language has emerged from intuitive emotional cries,
expressive, for example, of agony or joy. Introduction This early speculative language theory refers
to the notion that language emerged from unintentional vocal responses to agony, fright,
astonishment, enthusiasm, satisfaction, or other emotions (Barber 1965 ).
 The idea that speech comes from the automatic vocal responses to pain, fear, surprise, or
other emotions: a laugh, a shriek, a gasp. But plenty of animals make these kinds of sounds
too, and they didn't end up with language.

 This theory holds that speech began with interjections—spontaneous cries of pain ("Ouch!"),
surprise ("Oh!"), and other emotions ("Yabba dabba do!").

A theory is a group of ideas that seek to discover and explain things or events in
the world. It provides a framework or basis for explaining our observations. The basis of
these editions is derived from the prediction, prediction, or opinion of an expert.
Therefore, it needs more support or more solid evidence to prove it.

Sa artikulong ito nabanggit natin ang ilan sa mga teorya ng wika. Kung

A pooh-pooh (also styled as poo-poo) is a fallacy in informal logic that
consists of dismissing an argument as being unworthy of serious
consideration. Scholars generally characterize the fallacy as a rhetorical
device in which the speaker ridicules an argument without responding to the
substance of the argument.

Interjectional pooh pooh theory

Language arose from instinctive emotional cries.

Kristoff points out “The clicks, intakes of breath, and other noises which are used in this way
bear little relationship to the vowels and consonants found in phonology.”

The theory based on the cries of nature or involuntary and instinctive sounds man produced during the
emotions like anger, pain, love, joy, fear, etc. The early man must have used both emotive cries and
gestures. He soon realized that gesture could not be used while engaged in manual labours invented
language.
