ICT
ICT has transformed the work ethics, the functions of Human Resource,
companies (all sectors) and most importantly the experience of each
individual. It has penetrated every spheres of our lives through smart
phone, smart watch, internet, video call, smart TV including our education.
This pandemic is the testimony to the fact that we cannot live without these
technologies. When the people across the world were locked within the
four walls, its these technologies that came to the rescue of everyone.
People could still do their work sitting at home and still interacting
thousands of miles away. From online shopping to online banking,
everything is now possible with the help of a click – This is ICT in our lives.
It has helped reduce enormous human costs to companies and save
many hours of work time.
EVOLUTION OF COMMUNICATION
EVOLUTION OF INTERNET
Education and methods of receiving education have ever been changing.
Starting from Gurukul system of education in the lap of nature to traditional
classroom to modern e-learning. It is hard to foresee how it will look few
decades from now.
Let’s have a look at how these ancient forms of education have changed
over a period of time through the following pictures.
In fact, this pandemic has brought to light a new topic to debate altogether
raising questions on the existence of schools. Though the importance of
schools will remain intact in everyone’s life, it has for sure given a new
perspective to think about its immortality. Just last one year has
witnessed unprecedented rise in applications-based enterprises coming
out innumerable e-learning platforms for children claiming that their
learning will not be compromised due to closure of schools due to
pandemic. Even schools have switched completely to online mode of
learning for children striving to freeze number of students in their schools.
ICT gives a new dimension to the teaching learning process and creates
and sustains the interests of both alike. This also breaks the monotony of
traditional teaching, which at times becomes burdensome and irrelevant.
It also helps teachers reach out to many students in the classroom who
otherwise would have zoned out because of prolong lectures method of
teaching. As Gardener talks about multiple intelligence theory in which he
stresses to facilitate varied medium of exposures to students in order to
activate their learning process in the classrooms, a judicious blend of
traditional and technology-based teaching methods will only aid to the
learning process of students.
Let’s have a look at some of the merits and demerits of ICT in Education.

1. Remote Learning
3. Fun learning
Many mobile education apps exist which have turned learning systems
fun. Now, traditional ways of learning have been replaced with games,
and other learning techniques to make the learning process more
interesting.
We can take Duolingo as an example. Duolingo is one of the top language
learning apps where you can learn many languages for free. It teaches
you through pictures, fun phrases, chatbots, and much more.
There are apps for education that can track your learning progress and
weaknesses. These apps are capable of giving you personalized learning
plans so that you can boost your performance.
AI supported mobile apps for education can prepare a graph and provide
you customized results specifically focused on each section of the subject.
Moreover, these reports might also include preparation and performance
improvement tips.
6. Globalized Collaboration
The best learning apps are not limited to one target group to teach them.
For example, Khan Academy has multiple syllabuses from all over the
world. These apps related to education can provide you access to different
curriculums from syllabuses of many subjects in various languages.
