UNIT- I

2. a) With neat sketch explain different types of bonding in materials. (08)


b) Differentiate between traditional and advanced ceramics with examples. (06)
c) Discuss the types of structures in ceramic materials. (06)

UNIT- II
3. a) What is powder metallurgy? What are the advantages disadvantages and (10)
applications of it?
b) Write a note on particle size, distribution and shape in powder metallurgy (06)
technique.
c) What is spark discharge sintering? What are its advantages? (04)

4. a) Explain the following powder metallurgy methods with neat sketch: (12)
(i) Centrifugal atomization (ii) Reduction (iii) Electrolysis.
b) Explain with a neat sketch cold compaction. (08)

5. a) Suggest a method for producing tubular composites. Explain the same process (10)
with neat sketches.
