We always tend to make promises to ourselves; to be better this year, to do this and that, and new tasks to
accomplish which is pointing to only one purpose... to change for the better. This scenario is noticeable during
New Year, we refresh ourselves through making New Year’s resolutions and prepares for another 365 days of
living with our self promises. It may look like killing our old self and resurrect to a new life, but no it doesn’t
like that. We don’t forget our past we live with it and learn from it. Personal renewal requires acceptance of
what happened to your old self enable for you to move on without burden. As Jenna Galbut says “Each new
chapter of our lives requests an old part of us to fall and a new part of us to rise.” Today we are facing a huge
challenge; it seems that we are thrown to a new different world, a new type of living as well as in our way of
studying. This is our “new normal” we bid our goodbye to our old daily life, we need to adapt enable for us to
survive. Our new system of education is pretty difficult it introduces us to a new model of educational
platforms. The new face of education renewed and regenerated. We are transformed and expected to be
immune to problems associated with the sudden change in how we learn and study. Making some students
request for suspension of classes this school term and submit petitions regarding academic freeze. However,
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) pointed out that it opposes the academic freeze since the delay
will gravely affect the learning process of the students (ptvnews.ph). Thus the classes will still happen amidst
the pandemic. The social transformation took place which will reflect on our way of thinking and our way of
living today, and on how we cope with the problem and deal with it. It’ll make a great impact to evolve and
achieve the desired status of someone, for example in order for a student to keep up with the lesson and to
keep in track during the learning session; he should at least have a stable internet connection plus a
compatible gadget that he may use in online synchronous class. However, this is the problem of numerous
students who lack financial support and those who are living in remote areas. As a result, social
transformation to a better way may be laborious to happen.

2. As a student and an aspiring educator, I believe that education happens not only inside the school and
learning facilities. It takes place anywhere, anytime to anyone who is willing to learn despite any dire situation
that hinders the capability to have a formal education. Success lies to those who pursue their dreams and
finds alternative ways to learn. This belief of mine is hardly challenged by the situation today but proves by the
strong will and dedication of students as well as teachers to spread learning through the Pedagogical
Approach with collaboration to the new educational platforms for the new normal system of education. The
universities and schools continue to send off printed modules in a modular approach for students who were
unable to connect with the online world. Meanwhile, the faculty and staff are persistent to look and try out
different applications for synchronous learning for students who have internet access and are able to attend
online classes. Our homes will be our study place, and gadgets will be our best buddy while the eagerness to
acquire learning will light up the torch of knowledge.

3. Philippine Normal University (PNU) as an institution that’s guided by its vision, mission, goals, and
objectives to ensure the effective facilitation of learning. It is presumed that the students and graduates
undoubtedly are globally competitive and are competent enough to be called as future educators. Fulfilling
the university’s vision and mission to showcase the results of successive years of studying, to prove the quality
education offered as the producer of knowledge workers in the field of education as stated on its vision. In
spite of the Covid-19 Pandemic, it is expected that the university will still commit to its goal in order to achieve
its standards and oath to be the makers of quality teachers equipped with knowledge and values. The
pandemic challenges the objectives of the PNU specifically the responsiveness to the changing context and
needs of society. Nevertheless, PNU is able to adapt with the changing environment and is capable to provide
its learners’ needs and willing to pledge support and assistance in any possible way such as the “Project
TANGLAW” or Technology Assistance in the New Normal thru Gadgets for Learning And Work, that aims to
help those deserving students in need

4. Being part of the PNU as a first-year college student is a pleasure and an honor that is accompanied by
responsibilities. The mission, vision, goals, and objectives of the university will reflect its students’ deeds and
character. As a learner in this institution, we are giving our full effort to follow the set standards and maintain
a good reputation as well as contribute to the university to make these goals happen. In giving full
commitment to this we oath to put our heart and mind to PNU and do our part as a student. Collaborate and
participate in class activities as the first step to learning and continue making way for self-development in
order to fulfill our dreams and also satisfy the PNU’s mission and vision statement.
