I know that there are a lot of curriculum being implemented but it’s main objectives are to implement
learnings to the students. For me curriculums may have different way of implementation but when we
sum up on it’s purpose we can probably realize that its main goal is not for too much competition on
which is the best curriculum, but the reason why curriculums are implemented because they help
embarked knowledge and skills to the students.

B. The Teacher as a Curricularist

Find out the extent of your Cooperating Teachers’ (both Phase 1 and 2) roles as Curricularists by
asking them to respond to the informal survey. This includes your Phase 1 and 2 Cooperating Teachers.
Write a brief discussion and analysis.

As I see on the result in my opinion, both teachers have different perceptions on how they manage their
time and effort from making to implementation of the curriculum. I think there is nothing wrong
whether they have different answer because maybe they have different tactics on how they do it. And
we should remember that one of the main goal of the curriculum is to implement learnings to the
students. They may have different answer as long as they have the same goals which is an effective and
efficient implementation of learnings to the students.

D. Approaches to Curriculum

the content adheres to the principles of B.A.S.I.C. Fill in the table below.

In my own opinion, the curriculum holds a vital rule on how to implement learnings to the students. It
literally brought positive impacts to the schools and administrations because the curriculum starts with
a specific regulation that may focus on the optimistic future of the school.

E. Crafting the Curriculum: The Teacher as A Designer
Choose only 2 out of the 10 Axioms for Curriculum Designers. Interview your Phase 1 and Phase
2 Cooperating Teachers and find out from them how these axioms are realized in the school setting.

Peter Oliva’s 10 Axioms for Curriculum Designers:

1. Curriculum change is inevitable, necessary, and desirable.
2. Curriculum reflects its own time.
3. Curriculum changes made earlier exist concurrently with newer curriculum changes.
4. Curriculum change depends on people who will implement the change.
5. Curriculum development is a cooperative group activity.
6. Curriculum development is a decision-making process made from choices or alternatives.
7. Curriculum development is an on-going process.
8. Curriculum development is more effective if it’s a comprehensive process not piecemeal.
9. Curriculum development is more effective when it follows a systematic process.
10. Curriculum development starts from where the curriculum is.

As I summarize all of the answers, both of my cooperating teachers have different philosophy of
teaching. For me, the implementation of the curriculum will not be possibly effective without the
collaboration between the teachers and the students. Like what I have said, it should

F. Implementing the Curriculum: The Teacher as A Manager

Ask your Phase 1 and 2 Cooperating Teachers this question: What significant changes have you
made in the curriculum? Then, you will identify the category of curriculum change based on your
Cooperating Teachers’ responses. Provide a brief explanation on the third column also.

Personal insights and reflection

Changing the curriculum may be so hard but it is the responsibility of the teacher to work hard in order
to ensure effective implementation of learnings to the students. I think the teacher should have
different strategic method in order to effectively implement the main goal of the lesson.

G. Stakeholders in the Curriculum

into Google form and request assistance from your Cooperating Teacher (Phase 1 and 2) to administer
this to the parents by providing the google link. Write a brief discussion and analysis.

H. Assessing the Curriculum: The Teacher as An Evaluator

I learned that curriculum has to be evaluated properly so that teachers will know if the curriculum being
implemented is providing students with great opportunities of learning, and I truly agree with the
explanation of both Cooperating teachers on why the curriculum needs to be evaluated.
