At the end of this learning activity, the FS students should be able to:
1. describe the different parts of a lesson plan using a specified model;
2. construct a lesson plan aligned to his/her specialization using the existing basic education curriculum;
3. revise a lesson based on the comments/suggestions given by the mentor/instructor;
4. cite challenges encountered in writing lesson plans; and
5. reflect on the feedback received for the improvement of teaching practice.

A lesson plan is the teacher’s compendium of what students need to learn and how it will be done effectively
during the class time. It also involves designing and incorporating appropriate learning activities and strategies to obtain
substantive feedback on student learning. A well-constructed lesson plan prepared by a teacher for a particular lesson
allows him/her to enter the classroom with more confidence and a greater possibility of having engaging activities that will
result in a meaningful learning experience with students.
In this segment of learning experience, you will be exposed to various activities that allows you to examine
different lesson plan exemplars and its parts, and an opportunity to construct your own lesson plan.

There are two activities that you are going to do in this segment of learning. First, you have to stay focus, observe and
examine materials as you work your way in writing your own lesson plan.
Activity 4-1. DRAW ME OUT! (Part 1)
The FS mentor will provide at least three sample lesson plans using different models. The FS students will identify
the model and parts the given lesson plan.

Questions:

(1) What do you observe about the format of the lesson plans presented to you?

Every well-taught lesson is built on a carefully thought-out lesson plan. The lesson plan formats are available online. The
5E teaching model used in lesson plan A includes ENGAGE, EXPLORE, EXPLAIN, ELABORATE, AND EVALUATE.
Even though Lesson Plan B uses an experiential learning model, it aids in teachers’ professional development. Because it
gives them the impression that they can relate to their teachings in a way that they couldn’t through conventional
approaches, it is student-centered and raises engagement among teachers and students. Lesson plan C is the last and,
in my opinion, the most conventional one, although generally, they are all moderately extensive lesson plans.
(2) Describe the parts of each lesson plan model

Intended learning outcomes: When initially planning lessons, teachers usually concentrate on choosing the subject
matter, the delivery strategy, and the teaching aids. The lesson plan's primary focus should be on the class aim. Each
lesson should be centered on the objectives. By the end of the lesson, the teacher wants the students to be able to
accomplish it.
Instructional Resources: The instructor gives careful thought to the instructional resources during lesson planning to
support student learning. These could consist of:
• Textbooks or additional reading materials
• Web pages
• Text editors and other specialized computer programs
• Films, CDs, or other forms of media
• Visiting speakers
• Materials for projects, such as posters, paper, markers, or tape

Setting up the environment is a choice that is strongly tied to the methods
Performance Standards and Benchmarks
Select the performance standards and benchmarks you will cover in the session. These could originate from a single
curriculum area or combine standards and benchmarks from several. Always keep in mind the allotted time for the class.

After you have delivered each course, reflect on the experience by writing a reflection. Did the lesson's targeted learning
objectives get through to the students?

From a model, which part do you think is easy and difficult to construct?

I believe Lesson Plan A is the simplest of the three since it follows the 5E model, which is how teachers often organize
lessons and activities to provide all children the greatest possible start to their learning. In this procedure, stress the
chances for individualized learning. Lesson Plan B, which I can attest is a really instructional lesson plan, is the
challenging one.

What teaching method is used in each plan? Why did you say so?

Experiential learning, game-based learning, and student-centered learning are the teaching strategies employed in each
design. Because it promotes creativity, allows students to learn from their mistakes, develops reflective thinking, and
gets them ready for future experiences, experiential learning is a fantastic teaching strategy. It works well for many
subjects, particularly during science experiments, coaching sports, and group tasks. Look no farther if you want to
concentrate on enhancing the enjoyment, interest, and interaction in your sessions. Gamification, commonly referred to
as game-based learning, is a fantastic approach to engage students, especially those in primary and secondary
education. Last but not least, student-centered learning strategies encourage participation from the students rather than
more passive activities like writing or listening to lectures.

Describe the congruence of the lesson plan from the intended learning outcomes to the supporting activities and
assessments?
In order to achieve the anticipated learning, we ensured that all of the activities were in line with the
learning objectives. It comes from the DepEd's MELCS. Similar to Paglinang ng Talasalitaan, which asks
students to select or find synonyms for five words that are presented to them. Additionally, in Kasunduan
and Pagtataya. All of the components in pagtataya are consistent with the subject matter and their
assignments because they will be creating a DULA script.

1. Construct your own lesson plan using the DepEd format as indicated in D.O. 42 s. 2016 incorporating the
7E model. Include digital resources and materials appropriate to the intended learners.

What challenges did you encounter in writing your lesson plan? How will you address these challenges?

Here are some of the difficulties we ran into when developing lesson plans and how we overcame them.

The first difficulty is Lack of Ideas, which may be quite difficult if you can’t handle it quickly. This challenge is
comparable to when you run into a mental block when trying to answer a test question.

- Continue reading. The first thing we did to solve this issue was to look for information about
creating lesson plans online. After reading it, we made a list of ideas that could assist us in creating
lesson plans. Since you can’t generate ideas without absorbing information, your brain is unable to
function properly since it lacks the necessary knowledge.

The second difficulty we ran into was not having a that we experienced was a noisy environment. Since the
majority of us live in homes with lots of kids, we struggle to concentrate on work because of the noise the
rest of the house makes, especially the kids.

- Pay attention to your task for as long as you can throughout the quiet hours of the night.

Mixed concepts make up the third. When you have conflicting ideas, it can be quite difficult to construct a
lesson plan, especially if you are unsure of which of them is true or appropriate for use in lesson planning.

- Create a plan.

- Outline your thoughts on a separate piece of paper.

- Investigate the ideas that cross your mind.
