Negros Occidental
Established as a town in
1983, it was intended to
consolidate the area into a
separate and independent
local government unit to
counter the insurgency
concentrated here. The town
got its name in honor of the
late Vice-Governor Salvador
Benedicto, who was part in
setting the Revolutionary
Government of Negros Island
and Siquijor during the
Japanese occupation last
World War II.

Postive Impacts
1.Tourism has a positive impact on the
environment in the conservation of
important natural areas. The Society
for Sustainable Tourism & Development,
Inc. or SSTD, proposed tourism,
conservation and social responsibility
together with institutional partners,
Green Hotels, The Clean Blue & Zero
Carbon Resort, which espouse
sustainable tourism, cultural,
culinary, and conservation experiences
in Don Salvador Benedicto. One of the
objects of this project is to conserve
the natural park in Don Salvador
Bendicto. Governor Alfredo Maranon
voted yes to the demolition of the
illegal structures in the multiple use
zone of the Northern Negros Natural
Park (NNNP) protected area.
2.The construction of
infrastructure for businesses and
resorts requires a specific site,
which is exactly what happened in
Don Salvador Benedicto. According
to the news, an accident caused
nearly half a hectare of mountains
was burned. It's impossible since
accidents happen, starting with
burning leaves that result in the
destruction of about half a hectare
of land. The main reason it is
happening is in order to construct
infrastructure and businesses. This
can have a negative impact on the
environment due to the clearing of
trees. This can cause calamities
and floods that can affect the
livelihoods of locals.
Negative Impacts
3.Donsalvador is popular for its
fresh air, peaceful environment,
and nice views. Some of the houses
there are rest house for wealthy
people. The inflation in land
prices and houses also has a
negative effect in Don Salvador
Benidicto. Common people who live
there are locals and some wealthy
people who can afford to build a
rest house there. The increasing
price of land and houses has also
resulted in an increasing price of
grocery foods that can impact the
locals that live there. The price of
land in Don Salvador Benedicto in a
slope type of lot with fantastic
view of Mt Canlaon and Mandalagan
Cause P2,800/sqm minimum cut of
800sqm and a regular lots cost at
2,800 per square. 4. Illegal tree cutting is
one of the problems IN Don
Salvador Benedicto. They
use trees to make products,
construct infrastructure,
and create charcoal. Tree
cutting may result in the
loss of habitat for animal
species, causing
environmental damage. Trees
can aid in the prevention
of disasters such as floods
and landslides.
Negative Impacts
4.Many of the trees we use in our homes and daily lives take
hundreds of years to mature, making them a nonrenewable
resource. This means they can't be replaced easily or
rapidly. These trees are critical to the survival of life in
their habitats as well as on our entire planet. It's over
for them, and it's over for us. In order to solve this
problem in Don Salvador Bendicto, which is illegal cutting
of trees. Tourism should pay attention to this issue because
it is about nature. They should implement programs that
could benefit the environment, like planting trees. It is a
common program, but I know it can help. The trees that
should allow the government to cut are planted by the
people, not trees that naturally grow. They should remind
and give warning to the locals and also to the owners of
other businesses.
