NARRATIVE:

We the 4th year student of Tarlac State University College of Computer Studies are required to
join the webinar entitled “Basic Intellectual Property Rights: Copyright” It was held via Microsoft Teams.
In this webinar, the speaker define the intellectual property rights. From what I have learned,
Intellectual Property Rights are legal rights that provide creators protection for original works and their
inventions. It is very important that you manage effectively your Intellectual Property to make sure that
you get the best protection and the most out of your idea/invention. In this webinar, we also talked about
the WIPO which stands for World Intellectual Property Organization. This organization promotes the
protection of intellectual property and it helps the people international to develop and implement law on
intellectual property. The speaker also discussed the copyright infringement. From what I have learned,
copyright infringement is a violation when someone copies the original work or invention of other people.

OBSERVATIONS/LEARNINGS/VALUE OF THE PARTICIPATION:

This webinar is a big help for students as it gives us an opportunity to know and understand the
different concepts about the Intellectual Property Rights. It help us to understand that copying
someone’s work is a a crime. It is better to know these concepts such as copyright infringement as it
protects the author’s idea and original work. I am thankful and blessed to be part of this webinar.
