APPLICATIONS:
The 3M™ 2138 filter can be used in industries
where levels of dusts, mists and fumes and
nuisance* levels of organic vapours are present
in the workplace atmosphere e.g.

ƒ Pesticide spraying ƒ Asbestos abatement
ƒ Microbiological ƒ medium & 7900S large)
APPROVALS:
The 3M 2138 filter has been tested and meets
the requirements of AS/NZS 1716-1994.
The 2138 filter has been classified as a GP3
particulate filter, and is thus able to be used for
protection from mechanically and/or thermally
generated particulates i.e. it provides
protection against dusts, mists and fumes as
well as for highly toxic materials like
beryllium. It is suitable for use against low
vapour pressure chemicals (V.P. <1.3Pa or
0.01 mm Hg at 25 Deg C) and also offers relief
from nuisance* levels of organic vapours and
acid gases and is 3M recommended for
protection from ozone.
Note: Any P3 filter will only give P3
performance on a full facemask or head
covering. Any P3 filter on a half facemask is
considered by AS/NZS1715 to perform
equivalent to a P2 filter.

COMPATIBILITY:
This filter can be used on the following 3M
respirator face masks:
• 3M 6000 series Standard half face
respirators (6100 small, 6200 medium &
6300 large)
• 3M 6000 series Drop Down half face
respirator (6100DD small, 6200DD
medium & 6300DD large)
• 3M 7500 series Silicone convertible half
face respirators (7501 small, 7502 medium,
& 7503 large)
• 3M 6000 series full face respirators (6700
small, 6800 medium & 6900 large)
• 3M 7000 series full face respirators (7800S
INFORMATION:
The 3M 2138 filter is one of the 3M 2000
series of filters that are applicable for use in
dust, mist and/or fume environments, and also
where agricultural chemicals, or nuisance*
levels of organic vapours or acid gases are
present.
