6. Calculation of field capacities and field efficiency.
7. Calculations for economics of machinery usage, comparison of ownership with
hiring of machines.
8. Introduction to seed-bed preparation and its classification.
9. Familiarization with land reclamation and earth moving equipment.
10. Introduction to machines used for primary tillage, secondary tillage, rotary
tillage, deep tillage and minimum tillage.
11. Measurement of draft of tillage tools and calculations for power requirement for
the tillage machines.
12. Introduction to tillage machines like mould-board plough, disc plough, chisel
plough, sub-soiler, harrows, cultivators, Identification of major functional
components.
13. Attachments with tillage machinery.
14. Introduction to sowing, planting & transplanting equipment.
15. Introduction to seed drills, no-till drills, and strip-till drills.
16. Introduction to planters, bed-planters and other planting equipment.
17. Study of types of furrow openers and metering systems in drills and planters.
