The document outlines the method statement for conducting a dynamic load test on a test pile. It involves: 1) selecting a test pile and constructing it; 2) marking a location below the pile head to fix transducers; 3) drilling holes in the pile head and inserting plugs; 4) assembling a guide for the driving hammer; 5) placing the hammer and fixing transducers; 6) conducting the dynamic load test by dropping the hammer from varying heights. It then describes checking the acquired data and repeating the test if needed before disconnecting equipment and moving to the next test pile.

1. Selection of test pile by supervising engineer.
2. Construction of pile in the normal manner with pile head as shown in the sketch. 3. Mark a location approximately 3 times the pile size below the pile head for fixing transducers. This distance can be more but minimum not less than 1m. The steel casing should be flame cut for a size approximately 300mm x 300mm. 4. Drill two holes on opposite faces of the pile diagonally opposite each other. The diameter of the hole is 10mm and the depth is 25mm. 5. Clean the drilled holes with a rubber blower. 6. Insert plugs and wedges it against the side of the drilled hole. 7. Assemble the guide for the hammer with proper bracing. 8. Place driving hammer in position on top of the test pile. 9. Fixing transducers on the pile and connect to FPDS-3 as shown in Figure 1. 10. Preparation by piling gang to obtain pile set for each hammer blow during testing. 11. Power on the FPDS-3 Computer System. 12. Enter all data related to the test pile. 13. Raise the hammer half a meter above pile head and trigger. This is to test the connection between transducers and the FPDS-3 and ensure all system function correctly. 14. Start dynamic load test: a. The drop hammer is then delivering one drop at a time with varying drop height until sufficient data is obtained. 15. Check data acquired in field: a. Check driving resistance and static resistance. b. Check the driving stresses (compression and tension) c. Check driving energy. d. Check integrity of pile. e. Check eccentricity of driving hammer. f. Check overall quality of data. 16. If quality of data is good then field test is completed. 17. If quality of data is not satisfactory, perform the test again after checking the hammer alignment and transducers. 18. If the test is completed, switch off the power connected to the computer. 19. Disconnect all cables and transducers. 20. Remove the piling hammer to the next test pile. It is important that driving hammer should be placed on the pile top before fixing the transducers and removed only after the transducers are disconnected from the test pile. This is to avoid accidental damage to our measuring transducers and cables. 21. Back in office, prepare all field data and plots of measured wave for reports. 22. Select blow for signal matching by TNOWAVE Programme. This will produce distribution of shaft resistance and end bearing with simulated static load settlement characteristic of pile. 23. Preparation of detail report according to scope of works. 24. Submission of report.
