Public speaking scares you?

If yes, then let me tell you one thing - It is more about your mindset.

I have described this mindset through a nice story, that would make you
think about your fear.
Do watch this video completely and let me know your opinion about it?

Glossophobia, Fear of Public Speaking, Stage Anxiety, Speech Anxiety,

Stage Fright
All of these are different words used for a person who has a fear of Public
Speaking.

In Fact, most beginners confuse normal nervousness and anxiety with

stage fear, and that’s not right. Because it is normal to feel nervous in the
beginning but if left untreated, it can have severe consequences. It might
even lead to a situation where the person becomes incapable of
expressing a single emotion.

Don’t let this happen to yourself, your child, or to anyone close to you.
In this video, I would help you overcome this fear on your own.

PUBLIC SPEAKING
Public Speaking involves giving a speech in the presence of a large
audience in order to pass across some knowledge, some information or
some ideas in the appropriate and right manner for the necessary or
required benefits, results or outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS OF AN EFFECTIVE SPEECH.

The following are the TEN important requirements of a good and effective
speech delivery:

1. GOOD PREPARATION: There should be an adequate preparation for the

speech. Proper prior preparation prevents poor performance.

2. SELF-CONFIDENCE: The speaker should be confident of himself/herself.

Trust your capabilities and eliminate your fears. He/she must manage or
eliminate stage fright.

3. UNDERSTAND YOUR AUDIENCE: Know the kind of people you are

speaking to and act accordingly. Get familiarised with them but don't do it
excessively. Introduce yourself and try to hear from them too. Understand
the atmosphere. Know when to start your speech and when to round off
your speech. Appease your audience unless they may not listen to you.

4. FLUENCY: The speaker should be able to speak fluently. He should flow

along well speaking.

right choice of words or registers when speaking. There are terms to be
used for medicine and there are terms to be used for law and so on.

7. USE OF HUMOUR: The speaker should add humour and jokes in his
speech in order to create a lively and following audience. There should be
time for jokes and there should be time for seriousness.

8. CLARITY AND SIMPLICITY: The speaker's speech should be clear and

simple. There should be clarifications and illustrations. Your audience
should understand your speech and your message. Don't use ambiguous or
extravagant words. Use meaningful words that will aid understanding.

9. VARIETIES OF SENTENCES: The speaker should be able to make use of

different types of sentences. Use structural types, functional types and
formal types. Use long and short sentences.

10. TIME MANAGEMENT: A good speaker should be efficient with the use
of the time allotted for the speech. Make sure you use your time wisely
and profitably.
