Mimo the sleepy bear. A crochet pattern designed by Diminu. 1

Materials
· Yarn ( blue, light blue, cream and black). I used Katia Panama 100%
cotton yarn, 50g / 180 m
· 2 mm crochet hook
· Polyester fiberfill
· Black embroidery thread
· Tapestry needle
· Stitch marker

Abbreviations
st = stitch
ch= chain stitch
sc = single crochet
inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
dec = decrease (make 2 st into one st)
BLO = insert the hook in the Back Loop
Only
FLO = insert the hook in the Front Loop Only
sl = slip stitch

Notes
- This pattern is written using US crochet terminology.
- If you use the yarn and hook indicated, the bear will be about 17 cm
(6.6 inches) tall. You can make it bigger or smaller using another type
of yarn but, please, adapt the crochet hook accordingly.
- Work in continuous rounds (spiral) unless instructed otherwise in the
pattern.

LEGS AND BODY
We will make the legs and body in one
piece.
First leg
(Start with cream yarn)
Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: inc in all 6 st (12)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
Rnd 5: BLO sc in all 24 st (24)
Rnd 6-7: sc in all 24 st (24)

Change to blue yarn

Rnd 8-12: sc in all 24 st (24)

Fasten off.

Second leg
Make the second leg exactly as the
first one but do not fasten off.

-In next round we will join both legs. We
will start from the last stitch of the
second leg. Make ch 6 (picture 1)

Rnd 13: Insert the hook into the stitch

following the last stitch of the previous
round (picture 2) of the first leg and make a
sc to connect both legs. (picture 3).
This will be the first stitch of the next
round.
sc in the next 23 st on the first leg + sc in
each of the 6 ch working only in the loops
facing you + 24 sc on the second leg + 6 sc in each st on the opposite side of
the chain.
24 sc + 6 sc + 24 sc + 6 sc = 60

* Start stuffing the body and continue
stuffing as you work.

FACE
We will start making the nose:

Nose
(With black yarn)
Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: inc in all 6 st (12)

Make a slip stitch in next stitch and fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

- Now position the

nose centered in the
face 5 rows above the
color transition (light
blue part), and sew it
to the face.

 Now we will embroider the smiley mouth and eyes. (picture 5).

Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

With your yarn needle, weave the yarn
tail through the front loop of each
stitch and pull tight to close. Weave in
the yarn end.

EARS (make 2)

(with cream yarn)

Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: inc in all 6 st (12)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Rnd 4-8: sc in all 18 st (18)

Make a slip stitch in next stitch, fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. Stuff with
fiberfill.

and make sc through both layers to

sewing.

Now we will join all parts together to finish the little bear.

- Sew the ears to the head in round 5 from the top of the head.

- Sew the arms to both sides of the body, see the pictures as a reference.
