FOX CROCHET PATTERN

WHAT YOU NEED:

- yarn (Jeans Yarn Art - sport weight yarn) orange, white, black and grey
color

- hook 1,6mm

- soft stuffing (hypoallergenic fiberfill USA)

- wooden stick for stuffing

- needles for sewing on arms, head ears, fine sewing needle for
decorative elements.

- fabric of choice for inside ears , decorative elements

- embroidery floss ( for nose, eyes )

- eyes: 6 mm safety eyes, beads with loop, or hand embroidered eyes

- pastel blush powder for cheeks.

This model used the materials listed, the fox measures 13 cm.

If you use another yarn, such as cotton adjust your hook .

RECOMMENDATIONS:

1. Begin each round with a magic ring, working in a spiral placing marker
to keep track of each round.

2. Crochet tightly, if you find your stitches are loose try a smaller hook
size.

3. Stuff your toy with the poly fill as you go using the stick, making sure
you stuff firmly. This will assure your toy keeps it shape.

4. If your toy is for a baby or child under 3, use safety eyes or embroider
the eyes. Do not add small decorations such as buttons etc if for a small
child.

FIRST LEG

Using black yarn, hook 1,6mm

Rd 1: 5 sc in magic ring

Rd 2: 5 sc (5 sts)

Change the color of yarn to orange.

Rd 3: 5 sc (5 sts)

Rd 4: 2sc, 2sc inc, 2 sc (6sts)

Rd 5: 6 sc (6 sts)

Rd 6: 2 sc, 2sc inc, 3 sc (7 sts)

Rd 7: 7 sc (7 sts)

FO last stitch and cut yarn.

SECOND LEG

Continue crocheting with black and orange yarn following first leg
instructions. Repeat rounds 1-7 but do not fasten off.

CONNECTING LEGS

Rd8 is crocheting across both legs in a circle with one chain stitch
between. So that in total you will have 26 stitches.

Rd8 begin from 2nd leg. Crochet 4 sc around the 2nd leg. Then crochet ​a
chain of 6 ch (= ch6-chain). Still holding the last chain stitch of the
ch6-chain on your hook, take the 1st leg and crochet 7 sc around 1st leg.
Then ​6 sc along the ch6-chain and 3 sc around the remaining stitches of
the 2nd leg.

Rd 8: 4 sc, ​6 ch, 7 sc, ​6 sc, 3 sc (26 sts)

You will now begin the increase rounds. These increases will be in 4
places-the places of connecting legs and tummy.

Rd 9: 4sc, ​2sc inc, 4sc, 2sc inc, 7sc, ​2sc inc, 4sc, 2sc inc,

3 sc (30 sts)

Rd 10: 4sc, ​2sc inc, 6sc, 2sc inc, 7sc, ​2sc inc, 6sc, 2sc inc,

3sc (34 sts)

Rds 11-16: 6 rounds sc (34 sts)

RECOMMENDATION:

1.Now you need to stuff the legs

2. After several rounds of increases the beginning of the rounds start to

displace. Before starting decreases place the beginning of the round back.

Slip stitch last stitch, leaving a long tail to sew head on.

ARMS ​(make two)

Continue crocheting with orange grey.

Rd 1: 5 sс in magic ring

Rds 2-18 (17 rounds): 5 sc (5 sts)

Stuff the arm during your crocheting with a wooden stick. Fill into about
2/3 of the arm, leave the top of the arm empty.

FO last stitch and cut yarn.Leave a long tail for sewing. Crochet another
arm.
HEAD

Using white yarn, hook 1,6mm

Rd 1: 6 sc in magic ring

Rd 2: 6 sc (6 sts)

Rd 3: (1 sc, 2 sc inc)*3 (9 sts)

Rd 4: (2 sc, 2sc inc)*3 (12 sts)

Rd 5: (3 sc, 2sc inc)*3 (15 sts)

Rd 6: 15 sc (15 sts)

Rd 7: (4 sc, 2sc inc)*3 (18 sts)

Rd 8: 1 sc, 2sc inc, (2sc, 2sc inc)*5, 1 sc (24 sts)

Change the color of yarn to orange.

Rd 9: (3sc, 2sc inc)*6 (30 sts)

Rd 10: 2 sc, 2sc inc, (4 sc, 2sc inc)*5, 2 sc (36 sts)

Rd 11: 36 sc (36 sts)

Rd 12: (5 sc, 2sc inc)*6 (42 sts)

Rds 13-17 (5 rounds): 42 sc (42 sts)

Rd 18: (5 sc, sc2tog)*6 (36 sts)

Rd 19: 36 sc (36 sts)

Rd 5: fold your ear in half and crochet 5 sc together both sides.

FO last stitch and cut yarn. Leave a long tail for sewing. Crochet another
one.
TAIL

Using white yarn, hook 1,6mm.

Rd 1: 6 sc in magic ring

Rd 2: 6 sc (6 sts)

Rd 3: (sc, 2 sc inc)*3 (9 sts)

Rd 4: 9 sc (9 sts)

Rd 5: (2 sc, 2 sc inc)*3 (12 sts)

Rd 6: (3 sc, 2 sc inc)*3 (15 sts)

Change the color of yarn to orange.

Rds 7-10: 15 sc (15 sts)

Add the stuffing to the tail.

Rd 11: (3 sc, sc2tog)*3 (12 sts)

Rd 12: (2 sc, sc2tog)*3 (9 sts)

In rd 13 fold your tail in half and crochet together both sides:

sc, hdc, dc, tc.

FO last stitch and cut yarn. Leave a long tail for sewing.
SCARF

Take grey yarn color, hook 1,6 mm.

Make 40 chain stitches.

Later use a scheme, turn at the end of every round.

2-5 rows: crochet to arches from chain stitches

Crochet 5 rows.

FO last stitch and cut yarn and hide the tails.

ASSEMBLING AND DECORATION

1. Decorate the face: with brown embroidery floss/iris, embroider the

nose.

Sew with white ​thread nose so it to be turned up.

Fix the eyes: polybutene you can place with special transparent glue or
sew it. Also you can use the eyes on the loop. It's better to embroider
eyes for little babies.

2. Sew the head to the body.

3. Sew the arms to the body. Make sure it is on one level.

4. Sew the tail to the body so tc of the last rd on the top and sc on the
bottom.

5. Decorate the ears. Take the textile material and cut two detail like the
form of ears, a little bigger, than crocheted. Sew the textile to the
crocheted ear with flat seam. Sew the ears to the cap.

7. Put on a scarf, use the button to fix it on the neck.

8. If you want you can add some cute details for your fox to be especial.

The fox is ready!
