From the cultural evolution, the development of society was presented. Hunting and
gathering to agricultural, industrial, to post-industrial are the stages of the development
of society. If I will be adding or naming our present society, I would be naming it as
“Modernized Technology-based Society.”
Our society in the past was not that productive because things were done
manually; getting foods, building homes, communication, production, and more. Hunting
and gathering was the most difficult stage because things were done manually; using
simple form of tools to hunt and gather animals, veggies, or fruits, and to survive.
Agricultural society, in this stage or phase cultivating tools and developed farming skills
that can support and sustain the population of a town was done and this was the phase
of Neolithic people. In industrial society, new resources of energy were harnessed,
advanced forms of technology were applied, and machineries were invented. These
changes led to industrialization or the transformation of an agricultural society into a
production- and- manufacturing based one. This was made possible by the use of
advanced sources of energy that operated factory machineries. Machineries and
factories were invented and this was during the Industrial revolution. Post-industrial
society, the development of information technology and computers. This was also
during the Industrial revolution. Production focused on the use and application of new
information technology rather than factories. In industrial and post-industrial stage,
works and things were easier than the hunting and gathering to agricultural stage
because in industrial to post-industrial stage, machineries, factories and information
technology were made.
Now, what we are having right now in our society are modern; new developed
technologies were made and we do things more automatically. I would name our
present society as “Modernized Technology-based society”; based on the happenings
on our society today, most works and people depends on technology. Cars, gadgets,
factories, and machineries are more automatic than before and most people depends
on these. Technology today is more flexible and wide. I could say that, our society today
is the most easiest and comfortable when it comes of our tools and equipment because
of our modern technologies. Most people today in our society depends life in the
technology, such as, transportation and communication. With the help of the
technology, most people have their own cars for convenience or people are using public
transportations for faster way to go to work or anywhere they want to go. Gadgets that
we are using today are modern and has a lot of new features that is used in
communicating and for entertainment; most people can’t live without gadgets. Most jobs
are using computers or technology to be productive at work; also most companies have
more modern machineries that converts their inputs into outputs, companies who are
using modern technologies do not have to require more workers because the machines
are the one who is working for them.
Most of the things that we have today are automatic and modern. Almost all of us
depends on what the technology gives and do for us. Our technology is more advance
and flexible than before. For sure, the technologies that we have today will expand more
and be more developed.
