ACTIVITY 1: ESSAY

DESCRIBE SOME ASPECTS OF YOUR SELF-CONCEPT THAT HAVE BEEN CREATED

THROUGH SOCIAL COMPARISON. WRITE DOWN YOUR THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS
IN NO LESS THAN 300 WORDS.

Throughout my whole life my personality changes in every stage of my life when I was kid, I
was always playing, I love to socialize when I was a kid, I was very talkative back then, very
bright not afraid to explore new things and brave. As I entered high school, I notice that my
personality is changing a little bit, I still love to socialize back then but not like when I was a kid
and I’m getting annoyed when someone is talking loudly when it is clearly unnecessary to talk
that way. That time I wonder what is the cause of why my attitude/ personality change and I after
that I wonder what bad things happen to me in the past, but I cannot think of something. When I
was in my 10th grade, I realize that it was completely normal because we are supposed to change,
but there are many factors that may affect you but for me I don’t think my circle influences me
because they are very sociable and talkative and I am their opposite, when I am in my senior
high school days, I rarely talk to someone, I’ll just talk to them if they initiate the conversation. I
love quiet places and I don’t want someone to bombard me with some weird question because I
find it annoying, In my case I just develop this attitude of me just by myself there is no external
influence and I am now happy how it turn up because my life is quiet and peaceful, there is no
drama or whatsoever and I only have a small circle of friend and I like my personality, I can
understand if someone has a bad personality because it might have to do something on his social
circle or some life experiences, let just understand each other to have a peaceful life

ACTIVITY 2:
MANDALA: Mandala is a Sanskrit word which means “disk” or a geometric figure that
represents the Universe. In psychoanalysis, the term Mandala is a circular figure that is usually
filled with person’s drawing of his/her dreams or figures that represent the person's search for
completeness and self-unity.

For this activity, you need to prepare 1 whole sheet of paper. Draw a big circle on the middle of
the paper. Make sure to maximize the space of the paper. Inside the circle, draw the most
significant cultural influences (e.g. materials, activities, celebrations, beliefs, influential persons,
etc) that have helped shape yourself into what you are now. Pick a partner so you can share your
mandala with him/her and share your commonalities.
