Welcome to the Learning Activity Sheet (LAS) “Assemble Computer Hardware”. This
learning activity sheet contains background information, learning competency code,
directions, instructions, acitivities, guide questions, rubric, reflection and references for the
learners to complete core competencies of “Install and Configure Computer Systems”
You are required to go through a series of learning activities in order to complete each topics
of the (LAS). Follow these activities on your own and answer the activity evaluation at the
end of each learning activity.
If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask your teacher for assistance.
Assembling computer hardware can be very exciting, but without proper unit assembly
planning and ensuring OHS policies and procedures are followed in accordance with systems
requirements, it will cause you a lot of headaches, money and energy. If you don’t plan well
with your computer assembly. Just like a carpenter requires the proper planning for building a
house to avoid future accidents and related health problems, you are going to plan and ensure
OHS policies and procedures to follow in accordance with systems requirements for your
computer assembly. Computer assembly requires plan occupational health and safety
procedures to avoid future problems and well-planned to bring out the best sophisticated
technological outputs.
Before, putting all together the parts of a desktop computer to assemble it. A future computer
technician like you must consider to plan and OHS policies, procedures must be observed.
Remember the parts of the computer as a whole is electronics and sensitive to any
mishandling that will results waste of time and money. But nowadays, there are many simple
steps and procedures that you can follow and plan to utilize in the assembly process.
Following these procedures appropriately can lead to each and everyone to be successful in
computer hardware assembly.
1. Plan unit assembly to ensure OHS policies and procedures are followed in accordance
with systems requirements (TLE_IACSS9- 12ICCS-Ia-e-28)

Activity 2: Practice the “New Normal” preventative measures in your activities; refer to

Remembering the hazards that you experienced in your house, neighbours, community,
churches, and school, have you seen some violations in occupational health and safety
policies and procedures. Have you seen some posters or placards in your house, community?
These are some of the ways that the people using to understand by the community. Can you
name some of your observations and real life experiences in terms of safety standards and
hazards identification? Lets take a look of this initiative in behalf of the activities below.

Closure
As learners, it is important to plan ahead before unit assembly will take place in the
workplace or you maybe has plan to build your own computer within your budget, to avoid
expenses and breakdowns of the computer and spending a lot of money for repair and parts
replacements., As a technician, you must practice Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) to
follow procedures in accordance with systems requirements. You should familiarize the
materials, equipments, supplies, and most of all the tools, so that when you implement the
plan, things will go smoothly, planning the work intelligently and work the plan and using the
smart procedures.
