Discourse community of art.

Within the art discourse community there are different
types of techniques to explore and develop your art. There
are various techniques within painting, for example:
Charcoal, Oil, Pastel chalk, acrylic, etc. Most people
specialize more in some painting techniques than others,
this depends on the aesthetic you want to give your
paintings.
Personally, I like to vary the techniques depending on
which aspect I want to give to my works of art. Over time
I have experimented with many drawing and painting techniques (oil, pastel chalk,
graphite, acrylic, charcoal, and Chinese ink.) However, one of my favorite painting
techniques is oil because I feel like it gives landscape paintings a better look.

History of oil art

The use of oil has been known since ancient times and was present among the artists of the
Middle Ages. However, it was not until the end of the
14th and 15th centuries that this technique became
general. This technique became popular due to its
advantages when making an oil painting. This painting
technique allowed correcting mistakes that the artists
made because the paint had a longer drying period, in
addition to preserving colors very well. The oil painting
technique was used according to the artist and his needs
when making his painting. Some artists preferred to
dilute these pigments to achieve a more liquid
brushstroke while other artists preferred this paint to have a much more paste-like
consistency.
Previously, each artist prepared their own colors with different types of pigments based on
semi-precious stones to create a type of blue color, lead chromate for the yellow color,
mealybugs for the creation of the red color, copper for the bluish-green color, among
others. These pigments were mixed with linseed oil and resin.
This technique was the favorite of several painters such as Van Eyck, Titian, Leonardo Da
Vinci and Diego Velazquez, due to the benefits that this technique had when developing a
painting.

Genres of oil art

When making a painting there are different types of genres that can be used for its
elaboration such as portrait, history and Landscape.
Portraits: Include a person, yourself, or a group of people in the painting.
History: It is a representation or capture of an event in time of great importance, it can be a
religious, political and social event.
Landscape: They are scenes that happen on a daily basis.

Reflection
During the development of this text I had to do a long research on art (more specifically on
oil painting), its terminology and the different painting techniques. Being such a limited
topic at the beginning, I could not find so much information about oil painting, however,
when I deepened my research a little more, I was able to gather the necessary information
to be able to structure my text in the best way and in turn supporting the information with
images to better describe what the topic was about. Try that the information collected was
concise and easy for the reader to understand.
I used the SLOs B and the SLOs E during the elaboration of this text. Art has always been
an important factor for society, as this is a reflection of who we are and what humanity has
achieved. All this is reflected in the various pieces of art over time. Thanks to art we have
been able to learn about various cultures around the world. Speaking of art more locally,
the composition of any work of art makes us understand more about a community and
shows us a current representation of this community.
The SLOs E was important in compiling and organizing this text. Because art is an
expression, no words are needed to understand an idea, situation or emotion. No matter
what language a person speaks, anyone can interpret and understand a work of art. Since
before language developed, humans used art as a means of communication.
Having knowledge about this topic will help me for the next works of this class MWA # 1
since I will have more information collected. In addition to having a greater knowledge
about the structure of a text, its grammar and organization. At the end of this work, I
consider that I have compiled diverse information that will help me make my next project
much more complete, easy to understand, visually attractive and interesting.
