Congratulations! You have been directly admitted to the IES Abroad program.

You meet the acceptance

criteria and it has been determined that you have the qualifications to succeed in a study abroad setting.
While every program has different requirements to prepare for your departure, below is a general idea of
what you should expect to receive directly from IES Abroad in the coming weeks.

CONGRATULATIONS EMAIL
Within several days of notifying IES Abroad of your admission, you will receive a congratulations email
with important information. Be sure to check your email, including spam and junk folders, for this
important message from IES Abroad.

ACCEPTANCE PACKET
This is sent by mail about two weeks after your application is received at IES Abroad and contains your
official acceptance letter and the important Form of Agreement and Waiver document

ACCESSING YOUR My IESAbroad ACCOUNT

After you have been officially accepted by IES Abroad, you will be able to access your online predeparture
information and forms. You will use the login details that you used to create your account. Be sure to
carefully read your predeparture information and be mindful of the due dates for the various required
predeparture forms, including:

 $500 confirmation deposit (if your school does not pay this deposit on your behalf) or Intent to
Enroll form (if your school does pay this deposit on your behalf). Please note that the deposit or
Intent to Enroll form is due NO LATER THAN 3 WEEKS FROM THE DATE OF THE ACCEPTANCE LETTER
YOU RECEIVE DIRECTLY FROM IES.
 Form of Agreement and Waiver – failure to submit this document by the due date will result in
your housing information being withheld.
 Medical Report - failure to submit this document by the due date will result in your housing
information being withheld.
 Other important online forms. These vary by program. Be sure to submit your required forms
well before the due date

STUDENT VISA DOCUMENTS

Depending on the country where you plan to study, a student visa may be necessary in order to enter and
study in that country. A Visa Starter Packet will be included in your acceptance packet. Other official
documents required for your visa will be sent from IES after your confirmation deposit or intent to enroll
form has been received. For most countries, you will be responsible for directly applying to the
appropriate consulate for your visa. Please begin the visa application process as soon as possible by
contacting the consulate and requesting a student visa packet and make sure that you currently have a
passport valid for at least 6 months after the program end date.

FAREWELL PACKET
Before the program begins you will receive a final email with a participants list, a program calendar
outlining relevant program dates, including holidays and breaks, as well as any additional information or
program changes.

If you do not receive one of the above mailings, please contact your IES Abroad Advisor. Once again,
congratulations and prepare for the journey of a lifetime!
