Dear Kelly, Dear Ted,

I’m 15 and my friends think I am
friendly, cheerful and one of the most
polite people in the group. However, I
become very shy when I am in front of
the girl I love. When I want to invite her
to go out, I get nervous, my heart starts
to beat strongly and I can’t express
myself. In fact, I’m afraid the girl might
say “no”. Therefore, I get depressed and
start eating a lot of chocolate. The worst
of all is that I’m getting fatter. What
should I do to get over this problem?
Ted
You are not the only person to have this
problem. So, you shouldn’t worry so much. First
of all, you must believe on yourself. If a girl says
“yes”, that’s okay. But If she says “no”, she
must have her own reasons. You must think
about your own qualities and try to relax.
Second, you should eat smart food instead of
junk food. You will feel much better. Third, you
should do a physical activity: take a walk, go
cycling or go swimming. Finally, release your
tension, and think about yourself. You shouldn’t
give up. You should try it again. The next
