A. Subject Description:
Nursing care concepts, principles and practice in the management and rehabilitation of clients with
cellular aberrations, acute biologic crisis and those in emergency and disaster situations incorporating intravenous
therapy (IVT). It includes the utilization of the nursing process and the core competencies under the eleven (11)
key areas of responsibility of a safe nursing practice in the Philippines.

B. Objectives:
At the end of the course, and given actual clients with problems in cellular aberrations, acute biologic crisis and
emergency, the student should be able to:
1. Utilize the nursing process in the care of individuals, families in community and hospital settings
having such disorders/alterations and situational emergencies;
2. Ensure a well-organized and accurate documentation system in the care of such clients as measures of
the outcome of nursing care;
3. Relate with the members of the health team appropriately the progress of patient’s recovery as response
to management rendered;
4. Observe bioethical concepts/ principles, core values and nursing standards in the care of clients
maintaining professionalism towards the other member of the health team, families and clients;
5. Promote personal and professional growth of self and others as the most important aspects of being an
angel of the sick room.

The Final Grade is computed as follows:


FG = (0.17 x P1) + (0.17 x P2) + (0.16 x P3) + (0.50 x FE)

The Periodic 1 Grade is computed as follows:


First Period Grade = 1/2 CS + 1/2 TE
Class Standing = 30 % (QRAP) + 50% Unit/Long Test + 20 % Conduct (C-A-R-E)

The Periodic 2 Grade is computed as follows:
