2 PROJECT STRATEGY & OBJECTIVES
Based on information’s made available at bidding stage, GEOCEAN has decided to choose installation
methods and schedule allowing flexibility in offshore operations to limits SIMOPS with offloading terminal and
other contractor’s activities.

The project is intended to be developed according to the following sequences:

1. Pre-lay survey
2. Development of detailed construction method in accordance with applicable codes and standards
3. Preparation of NOGA 2A dedicated area for pipe strings prefabrication and launching
4. Erection of cofferdam curtain until shore line (KP50) and Temporary Sheet Piles Jetty
5. Excavation of the trench between KP50 to KP264 and from KP400 to KP 601 with Offshore Backhoe
Dredger
6. Installation of grout bags for crossing with existing line
7. Prefabrication and assembly of pipe strings (straight part) and bundle on NOGA 2A area with full
welding and NDT spread
8. Towing from Noga2A, positioning to final position and laying pipe by controlled sinking.
9. Installation of risers with Crane Barge assisted with divers.
10. Metrology and installation of subsea flanged spool to connect the section together (37 spools) using
Crane barge
11. Installation of FOC bundle using a Multicat (or equivalent) DP Vessel equipped with cable laying
equipment
12. Hydro-testing, cleaning, gauging and drying of installed pipelines
13. Backfilling of pipes and cables trenches at T Warf extremity and NOGA 2A land fall
14. Reinstatement of NOGA 2A.
15. As laid survey

It is important to note that above methodology increase number of flanges in comparison with design proposed
in the tender document. Other method like AWTI (flanges connection or welding) could be performed, but
short independent activities have been selected to reduce the SIMOPS.
If requested by CONTRACTOR, AWTI method can be proposed by GEOCEAN.

At this stage, it is assumed that actual ICCP is suitable for protection of new pipes added to the existing
facilities. It is understood that pipes will be filled with Seawater prior metrology.

A temporary mooring buoy will be placed 1 Nm approx offshore in Sheltered area as contingency to moor
pipes string or marine spread if required.

8.8 RISERS INSTALLATION

Riser installation will be achieved from Working Crane Barge (WCB) mobilized on purpose for this work. It is
understood that crane barge will be moored alongside the berth under revamping at T-wharf, and along the
available loading berth at Island wharf.
The risers will be manufactured onshore in the same manner than pipes strings and bring to location by towing
method.
Risers will be upended and brought into riser clamp guided by ROV for the general approach and by divers for
the final approach.
It has been assumed that Riser clamps are design and installed by CONTRACTOR before riser installation.
Clamps shall be divers installation friendly
Divers will dive from Crane barge as per project diving standard.
12 riser’s installation have been considered in the present proposal.

8.9 SPOOL METROLOGY AND INSTALLATION

Simultaneously of risers and spool installation with WCB, spool metrology will be performed from secondary
Diving support (typically Multicat moored in 3 points).
Number of Spool is assumed to be 37 units in the present offer (NB: pipe section 4 is considered as spool in
our offer).
Sinking flange will be removed and metrology performed with PLSM or equivalent.
The metrology results will be transferred onshore and spools will be fabricated onshore, and launched from
launching ramp with additional buoyancy.
Spools will be installed with WCB moored alongside the Wharf. If required (depending of the spool weight)
additional buoyancy will be added on the spool to maintain apparent weight into acceptable weight for the
crane.
The spool will be launched full of seawater to allow underwater spool connection

8.10 FOC CABLE INSTALLATION

This section will be updated once information about cables design and packing are known.
FOC cables (i.e : 2 bundles/products) will be installed from Multicat in DP mode.
Multicat will be equipped with tensioner, dolly base and chute in cable configuration.
Cables will be installed from Island Wharf toward T wharf. Position of cable will be controlled by ROV, and
divers intervention could be done to correct cable route if required
Cable reel will be delivered by CONTRACTOR at temporary Jetty and loaded onboard multicat from Onshore.
It is understood that cable reel supplied by CONTRACTOR will not exceed 5m diameter and 20T weight.
When started, this operation cannot be stopped, this operation will therefore be performed on 24h basis.
During installation, supplier’s representative will test regularly the cable to ensure its integrity.

8.11 INSTALLATION OF CROSSING

The pipe lines to be installed are crossing existing pipeline routes. The crossing will be realized as follow:
 Installation of mattresses on Elbow of the crossing spool to ensure spool do not touch existing pipes.
These mattresses will be installed from Diving Support Vessel (type Multicat) moored on 3 anchor points.

 Grout bags will be placed together with the Spool. When all crossing spool and FOC cable are
installed, grout bags will be grouted from Grouting unit placed on multicat.

8.12 PRECOMISSIONNING

Summary
Pre-commissioning Scope presented in this proposal is consisting to:
 Cleaning and Gauging of the lines
 Hydro testing of the line
 Dewatering and Drying of the line
 N2 inerting of the lines
 MEG Swabbing
MEG swabbing is offered as an OPTION.
Cleaning, gauging and Hydro test will be performed with treated sea water.
As per clarification with CONTRACTOR, treated sea water will be recovered and treated onshore.
The use of fresh water for the pre-commissioning operation is proposed as an option.

8.13 BACKFILLING.

Opened trench will be backfilled with excavated material. Hooper barge will be loaded at temporary Jetty
location and towed on position
It is assumed that dredged material can be used for backfilling without any treatment. If polluted soil is found,
disposal and replacement is not included in this proposal.
Material will be loaded on hopped barge at temporary jetty, with backhoe and loader. Storage area is
considered to be less of 1km from temporary jetty.

12 SCHEDULE
The present offer is considering that offshore works around T wharf as defined in the tender documents will
be performed during Revamping of berth 1 and 3, in order to limit SIMOPS with Tankers in this area.
Changes in schedule of the Revamping (as defined in the attached Schedule) may impact GEOCEAN Works
as proposed here after.
Based on available documents and level of maturity of the Revamping tender, It is understood that no third
party marine spread will interfere with GEOCEAN Works around T wharf area during revamping period
Total duration of work is expecting to be little bit less than 20 months. This duration is based on the following
assumption concerning the working time:

Working time
It is assumed the following:
- Onshore works will be performed on a 12h/ day 7/7 bais on NOGA 2A area but can be 24h a day if
required and in order to reduce the occupation duration of the area and impact on other scopes. TBC
with CTR/OWNER
- Dredging works can be performed on 12h basis, based on input that only daily work will be possible
offshore, and on the fact that all operator will be under AC sheltered area
- Offshore works daily duration is based on 12h effective each day, considering that vessel movement
may not be authorized by night but diving would be authorized
- Pre-commissioning is based on 12h or 24h/day 7/7 depending if there is no vessel movement during
the operation.
- Small craft and crew change movement by night have been considered as acceptable by
CONTRACTOR and CPY
- Despite dedicated persons will be nominated for Permitting works, No excessive standby for PTW
opening signature by BAPCO is excepted on daily basis (<1 hour / day)
- Weather standby have been added in the Schedule Rev02. It is based on BAPCO and GEOCEAN
limitations for lifting and subsea operations and on meteocean data provided in the tender
documentation, so it only includes limitations based on wind.

The offer’s schedule is available in document [B2]. These is two cases: with and without SIMOPS.

For the case with SIMOPS, please refer to commercial offer.

Planning does not include any options. Planning will be revised including option at contract award.
