REFLECTION

Badminton is a two-person sport. Playing against an opponent will not only help improve
your game but also enables you to learn and cultivate good values such as fair play and
sportsmanship. In case of doubles, you get a chance to partner up with another and
form a team.

Badminton, like any other physically intensive sport out there, causes immense strain
on your muscles, joints, and tendons. And as a result, you’ll find many badminton
players with a host of ankle, knee, back, and wrist problems.

The video is all about the proper way of warming up before playing badminton and how
to avoid injury during playing. Warming up is indispensable before any workout as it
prepares the body by gradually increasing the heart rate, loosening the joints, and
increasing the blood flow to the muscles. A good warm up helps prevent injury. Based
on the video I’ve watch it’s better to do warm up before playing the game. The
difference between those who get injured a lot and those who don’t lie in the preparation
that goes into playing a game. Without warming your body up and stretching properly,
you risk injuring yourself. As such, the warm-up is the most essential part of any sport.

A warm-up for both badminton training and competition should begin with some light
activity to increase blood flow to the muscles. The next phase of the warm-up is to
stretch the muscles and joints. This will be achieved initially by passive stretches
followed by active stretches specific for the action of badminton. By warming up your
body and loosening up your muscles, not only do you prevent injury you also ensure
optimal performance while playing badminton.

The ideal warm-up should include a short session of cardiovascular exercises followed
by dynamic stretching and a few strength drills. Cardiovascular exercise helps to bring
your heart rate up, improves circulation, and loosens your joints. This is a sort of
preparation to ensure that your body is ready to deal with all the dynamic movements
that you’ll have to perform while playing badminton

After your body has been fully warmed up, stretch your muscles to prepare them for the
upcoming action. Stretching loosens the muscle fibers, allowing them to absorb any
shocks or hits you may encounter throughout a game.

It's critical to stretch before a game with dynamic stretches, in which muscles are
constantly worked to stretch them out. When the body is cooling down after a
badminton game, static stretches, or stretches that you hold for a long moment, are
ideal.

During the badminton game, the most stress falls on your shoulders, so it becomes
necessary to take care of your shoulders after the game. As a matter of fact, the
repeated stress on your shoulders and arms, which is the result of overhead shots and
smash, can strain your arms and shoulder. Cooling down is important but it's also
important to note the following is just an indicative guide about what you could do.
When someone plays sport, their heart rate goes up. Muscles and tendons stretch, and
they work hard, as does the heart. When the game is over, the body needs to get back
to its natural state.
