budding branches
BY Christine Haynes, A.J.P.
My design space has a huge window that
faces the woods and a small flower garden,
the perfect backdrop for inspiration all year
long. These budding branches, inspired by
nature, are the perfect little accessory. Consider
using colors of the season, or birthstones—the
options are endless and the results are beautiful.

1. Flush cut six 3" pieces of 20–22g wire. Flush cut CHRISTINE
the 24g wire in half. Gather the 3" pieces of wire into a HAYNES,
bundle. Using one 5" piece of 24g wire, begin wrapping A.J.P., is the

3. Wrap the other end of the bundle as in Step 1, attaching com or fezelry.net.
the second soldered jump ring. Separate the wires, creating 1
space between each wire, or keep them bunched closely
together. Cut the chain in half. Attach one 4mm jump ring to
one end of each piece of chain. Close each of the jump rings
around a soldered ring on the bundle. Attach one 4mm jump
ring to each of the remaining ends of the chain. Close 1 of
the jump rings. Pick up the lobster clasp with the other jump
ring then close the ring. Separate the cut ends of the bundle,
trimming a few to a shorter length for a less structured look,
if desired. If the ends of the wires are rough or sharp, gently
file the ends with a metal file or emery board.
