INSPIRING VITALITY BY FACILITATING INNOVATION, ACTIVE LIVING AND
FUNCTIONAL DESIGN THROUGH A CONNECTED URBAN ANATOMY.

DESIGN vitality
The Core Design Group recognizes the distinct character of the Gaukel Street Station will reflect its function as a conver-
gence and dissemination point for the innovative, active, and functional “vitals” of the site. This is apparent in its positioning
and offering with regard to the natural and built environments, various traffic modes, and the socio-economic diversity of
site users.

URBAN ANATOMY
INNOVATION
A place where knowledge is
encouraged and exposes new
technological advances.

ACTIVE LIVING
Prioritization on active trans-
portation to support healthy
lifestyles and choices.

FUNCTIONAL
A sustaining economy driven
by local businesses, start-ups,
and entrepreneurship.

The Gaukel Station is positioned as a gateway for the natural environment of Victoria Park to
“grow” into the built environment of downtown, by means of the urban trail network and con-
nected open space system. Core Design Group will plan efficiently to build a better network
to support all active modes of transportation; giving our people the choice to do so in a safer
environment.

With high exposure from residents and visitors, Core Design Group will take advantage of the
HUMAN ANATOMY transit stop in order to create a Community Life Centre. This centre will provide immense ame-
nities to residents belonging to all age, cultural, social, and income groups; A catalyst for con-
vergence of the City’s diverse socio-economic population whom the site is directed at serving.
