Many people have access to social media.

What are the negative impacts of using social

media and what can be done to minimize the bad effects?

Social media is a media that is useful for socializing with each other between
individuals and other individuals which is done online so that someone can communicate
without being limited by space and time. In today’s sophisticated era, social media is very
useful for anyone because we can interact very easily either using smartphones, computers or
tablets, to be able to access social media we must have a stable and fast internet connection.
Even so, there are still many people who use social media for things that are not good, one of
which is spreading hoax news.
Spreading hoax news is a negative impact of social media. There are still many people
who are not responsible for what they do, they innocently spread news that has no truth or
hoax to the public using social media so that people will assume that the news is really true so
that it can harm others. People who read the news will criticize the object or person who was
told the hoax, and it will be very fatal. It is even possible that those who can be punished are
not only those who spread hoax news but the readers who participate in criticizing without
thinking will be affected so that the problem will be longer.
The solution to this problem is to refrain before commenting and sharing. Be smart in
using social media, we should first find out the truth before criticizing someone or vilifying
someone who is not necessarily true. Nowadays, there are so many people who give criticism
without thinking about the consequences, they just want to satisfy their sense of social
frustration over the news circulating even though it is not necessarily true or often called
blasphemous, for that we must seek information first before commenting, find out if the news
is true. Or hoax, if it is hoax news, report it to the authorities. If you see issues related to Sara
or news that trigger controversy, don’t participate in negative comments. Hold ourselves and
our thumbs up not to share it right away.
The conclusion of this problem is that understanding social media is indeed important
in this day and age so that we do not get left behind because all information about media is in
social media, we can see it through smartphones, computers and tablets, but we also have to
be smart in using social media because it is still many spread fake news or hoaxes, for that we
must be able to filter information first before commenting and sharing so that we don’t fall
into the hoax news.
LINE GRAPH OPTION 2

The line graph depicts the number of complaints received by the complaints department of one airline
during a six month period in 2009 from January to June.
From the graph, it can be seen that complaints via email/fax decreased from January to June, while In-
person and telephone complaints increased from January to June.
Complaints via email/fax decreased by 400 from January to June, starting from 799 and continued to
decline until June of 399. The difference from January to June had a very large difference, the most
drastic decrease was in March to May of 500 down to 399 so it has a difference of 101.

Meanwhile, complaints through in person and telephone experienced an increase, for complaints
through in person there was an increase in the difference of around 1,401 starting from 499 in
January, increasing sharply to 1,900 in June. Furthermore, for complaints by telephone, there is a
difference of 700, in January it is 900 and then it increases until June of 1,600.
PIE CHART OPTION 1:

Two pie charts showing the percentage of data on electricity production by fuel source in France in
the period 1990 and 2010.
Overall, the two pie charts show that the use of nuclear power to generate electricity in France has
increased rapidly, but gas use has decreased over the two periods. In addition, oil and coal have
decreased and hydro power plants have shown a slight decline in their use.
In 1990 the use of nuclear power for electrical energy sources reached 17% of electricity production
in France. Gas and coal have the same percentage of 28%. Oil has a percentage not far behind about
one-fifth of energy production. However, hydroelectric power generation showed a very low
percentage in 1990 and 2010.
Looking at the data in 2010, oil and coal have the same percentage and experienced a sharp decline of
up to 13% of fuel sources for electricity with natural gas also seen decreasing in use by around 4%.
From all available data, the most striking percentage is nuclear power because energy is the most
widely used for electricity production, which reached 67% of the total electricity production in 2010.
