With the availability of advanced technology that allows an organization’s work to be done anywhere,
anytime, is organizing still an important managerial function? Why or why not?

Organizing is the managerial role which facilitates the development of an organizational

structure and the allocation of human resources to ensure that the objectives are achieved. The
organization's structure is the framework through which efforts are integrated (Libraries, 2015). This
function determines the steps on how to achieve organizational objectives effectively. Without
organizing, the plan has a huge chance of failing, even if the manager has prepared the goals. In several
aspects, a systematic approach to organizing benefits the management as it aligns the different assets to
a common goal (“Importance of Organizing”, n.d.).

People work together according to the job assigned to them by the managers. However, in these
modern times, where technology is fast evolving, organizations tend to heavily rely on it to help build
productive business practice (Harvey, 2020). Modern technology gives various tools that a company can
utilize when managing and organizing staff workloads. As a matter of fact, technology makes the job
easier for the employees while yielding exceptional results in achieving an objective.

Despite technology modernization, organizing is still an important managerial feature. In an

organization, the main function of technology is to serve as a guide for the manager and his/her
subordinates to get things done efficiently and effectively. Technology will be of no use without
organization since it is only regulated by humans. On the other hand, the use of technology in this
managerial function is often used in the most convenient way of managing tasks. To conclude,
organization as well as technology are essential in achieving organizational objectives.
