Production of the Front Page, Contents Page and Double Page Spread

Front Page

This is the beginnings of the front page. I have placed one of the
Jessie J inspired images to act as both the main image and the
background colour. I have placed it to the right of the page so that there
is a place to put the writing and you can still see most of the main image.
I have placed a two grey and purple flowers over each other and changed
the opacity of them so that they brick wall is still visible underneath. This
is going to be the mark for Impact magazine, and is going to appear on in
the same place on every page, sometimes with a variation of colours.

I have used a tool on Photoshop to change the brightness of the

picture to make it brighter so that it stands our more and have also
changed the redness of the models lips so that they are darker in colour. I
have added the masthead of Impact where I have used the Lobster font
that was downloaded from www.dafont.com and layered them over each
other so that it gives the effect that the masthead has a white shadow.

I have added a black banner across the bottom of the page and
changes the opacity of it so that the image can still be see underneath. I
have added the text ‘Summer Music Blowout P53’ underneath and
changed the word music to purple so that is stands out against the rest. I
have also added the word ‘Leah’ which is the artists name in the same
purple font. I have made it so that it is the second biggest word on the
page apart from the masthead so that it stands out and catches the
readers eye.

I have added a white box in the bottom left hand page and
changed the opacity of it so that the black banner can still be visible
underneath. I have also added the issue number, price, date and barcode
on top of the box. “Love heartbreak and her double platinum life’ which
is the main story I have placed underneath the word Leah and I have
changed the layers do that each word slightly overlays the one above it,
as I feel like this gives the magazine a slightly edgy feel.
I now added a purple box in the lower left hand wide which
contains one of my secondary images as if to give it a frame and is a slight
variation of a polaroid image. I have made the word ‘Win’ much bigger
that ‘Summer Getaway’ and have changed the colour so that it stands out
more, as this way it has more chance of catching the readers or potential
customers eye.

I have added the final text of ‘Adele Pink LMFAO Katy Perry Jessie
j Many More Inside’ is alternating black and white font on the upper left
hand side of the page. This contrasts well against the background image
and also contrast with each other. This is my final front cover image.

Contents Page

This is the beginning of the contents page. I have changed the

background to grey and have added the two flowers that to the top left
hand of the page. This time I have used white and purple instead of black
and purple as I believe that it stands out better than the black and purple
would do against a grey background.

I have added a white rectangle down the whole left hand side of
the page and this is going to be used to hold the majority of the contents
of the magazine. I have also added an I on top of the logo which stands
for Impact and is going to be placed on top of the flowers on all pages
and have added the word contents and for this I have used the same font
and the same shadowing technique as the masthead on the front page.
I have added a ‘Whats Inside’ underlined title in the top of the
white box and underlined this so it is clear what is in the white box.
Underneath is a list of every artist that appears in the magazine in black
and what page they are on in purple. I got the inspiration for this idea
from one of the magazines that I analysed. I have also added a purple bod
that covers most of the page and have slightly changed the opacity of the
box so that it is fainter.

I have added my three remaining secondary images and one of

the images that I have taken for my double page spread. I have also
added which boxes in different corners of all of the photographs and
changed the opacity of them so that the image is still able to be seen
underneath. I have also added numbers on top of the boxes to show
which page numbers that particular celebrity appears on.

Double Page Spread

I have begun by adding my main image for the

double page spread to the left of the double page
spread and a grey box on the right of the double page
spread to act as a background. I have expanded the
image and cut off part of her arm to that she is slightly
to the left of the page.

I have added four images underneath the grey

box and have changed the opacity of the box so that
the images look as if they have a grey shade to them.
This is going to be all of the images that are used on the
page and I feel like this is a very up to date way of
creating a double page spread.
I have added flowers and the ‘I’ to the left
hand of the page, and have also added the name ‘Leah’
to centre of the page, and have positioned it so that it
look as if the models arm is covering part of the l. I have
again used the same font that I used for the masthead
but this time I have used a purple colour.

I have added seven white boxes and unlike

most of the boxes that I have used I have not changed
the opacity. I have added black text over the top of the
white to make the writing look as if it was in a
newspaper. I have changed the work Love to red as this
is the colour that represents love.

I have five white boxes in the centre of the

page and have changed the opacity of them so that
they are almost invisible by will make the writing that I
am going to place on top of it easier to read. I have also
added a white box and a purple banner to the bottom
of the page in the same opacity.

I have finally added all of the main text to the

boxes and have changed the questions to a purple font
so that the reader can tell the difference between the
answer and the questions. I have also added white
writing to the banner and a page number to the
smallest white box.
