a. Culture
Culture has an impact on communication styles in particular. We typically react to
people’s mannerisms rather than what they say. We are also all distinct due of our varied
cultures. Each culture has its own unique method of speaking and interpreting messages. It also
leads to miscommunication because to difference of behavior and personality such as body
language, thinking, manners, and conventions.

b. Language Style
The primary aspect guiding and affecting communication is language style. We can
determine the speaker’s cultural identity based on language style. People from many cultures
expresses themselves through a specific style of expression to identify their membership in a
group, but they are also occasionally used to exclude or to discriminate. Intercultural
communication occurs the two people conversing speak in a distinct language style. However,
due to differences in language style, a communication clash may occur.

a. Effective and fast action
Intercultural communication is an effective and fast action because, as the population of
the people in the world increases, likewise, the possibility of a person communicating across
cultures. It means we are having more and more contact with the people who are culturally
different. Also, it can solve the global issues particularly breaking down cultural barriers.

One of the most serious issues in intercultural communication is miscommunication.
Puns, slang, and the usage of jargon can cause communications to be misunderstood. To avoid
this, we should speak clearly and concisely so that the listener can grasp what we are saying.
Be a good listener as well, always listen carefully before speaking so that we can communicate
effectively.

c. Building trustworthy brand

Money and product aren't merely what the owners or founders think in a business. It's
also about building a brand and interacting with the audience. Engaging across cultures will
undoubtedly open doors for investors from all over the world, and as a result, we must
communicate well. We want our company to be connected with favorable characteristics.

crucial step is to open the doors. Allow your clients to participate in the process.

1. What does “Intercultural communication offers the ability to deal across cultures” mean? (10
points)
Because the global population is growing, the planet is becoming smaller. The chances
of engaging with people from different cultures are limited to none. That is why intercultural
communication exists. It provides everyone with the opportunity to interact with people from all
cultures. It also breaks down cultural borders, which is one of the world's current concerns.
Regardless of linguistic style, pronunciation, signs, or other nonverbal communication, we
should retain communication with one another. Speaking and dealing across cultures, I believe,
will fuel our thoughts as we seek to understand what is going on in the world.

2. Explain in your own words why each of the tips for effective intercultural/international
communication important. (35 points)
There are six tips for effective intercultural/international communication. The first is to
maintain etiquette. You should practice proper dressing, greeting, and even good body posture
while speaking so that, it can make you look professional and an effective speaker. Second is to
avoid slang. Because we are speaking to people from different cultures, using slang can distract
or annoy your audience, especially if you are speaking to someone from a non-English speaking
country. It may also cause them discomfort when conversing with you because they may
believe that they are not proficient in the language that you both uses. The third suggestion is to
speak slowly. Speaking in this manner will help you avoid grammatical mistakes. It also conveys
to your audience that you are at ease speaking to individuals or the general public. The fourth
rule is to keep it simple. Always choose to be more precise and to the point when speaking. To
avoid misunderstandings, avoid using jargon. Next is practice active listening. A good speaker is
a good listener. It can help you to avoid misinterpreting messages. We also need to take turns
to talk. Let the speaker finish speaking for the conversation keep in flow. The exchange back
and forth of messages is a must. Next is write things down. It will help you to review the topics
incase that you’re in an exclusive meeting. Also, you will have more backgrounds to share to
other who are willing to know the same thing you acquired. Next is avoiding close questions.
Always try to ask more interesting questions rather than asking simple questions that can be
easily answered by yes or no for the conversation to flow freely. Also, we should be careful with
humor because not all jokes are funny. We should know our limitations to avoid being offensive
and crossing boundaries. Finally, be supportive. Being at ease is essential for effective
communication. We should not make fun of incorrect grammar, diction, or even a simple
mispronunciation. Always be respectful to one another and encourage them not to be afraid to
speak up. Assist them in developing confidence and trust in you.
