a)  Performance

• Easy to carry, worn cross-body with the spout in front of the body.

• The product prevents spilling at any case.

• Easy to fill in the kitchen sink, hangable to the faucet. 

• Able to accommodate 12 plants. 

• Easy release, it can release on the floor immediately without spilling.

• The product should withstand to operating conditions. 

b)   Environment

• Resistant to water

• The product should withstand to -5 to 100 degrees water

• Easy cleaned parts. 

• No smell, rot when contacted to water.

c)   Customer

• it is expected that the customer will be man woman aged 20-40, working and
disconnecting from technology, and do not know well about watering, it’s a plant
starter kit. 

• its expected that the customers will be people who raise more than 4 plants.

d)   Size

the length is not to be greater than   50 cm

the breadth is not to be greater than 15 cm

e)   Weight

• its volume can take up to 5 Liters.

• The empty weight of the product should not be excess 0.5 kg.

f)   Materials

• the use of existing materials for manufacture is imperative 

• the material should be soft and foldable.the materials selected should withstand
the environmental conditions.

• All the materials should be non-toxic.

• The materials selected should be recycled.

g)   Processes

• there is no limitation to the manufacturing process.

 h)   Quantity

• there is no exact number for production quantity.

• the spout has to be min 100 pieces.

j)Product life span

• A minimum of 10 years is required for the most of the parts.

• A minimum of 4 years for the functional parts.

• 2 Years service guaranteed.

ı)   Disposal

• product components are clearly labelled for appropriate recycling disposal. 

DESIGN INTENTION

Research sum

Watering is the most important process for a plant, if you don’t water them, they will
die. This is # 1 reason that people don’t prefer to buy plants. Taking care of the
plants according to their watering cycles is important. İts actually a crucial job, but
people take it as a light process, neglect it.

Research shows, people prefer bottle or glass rather than watering can. My market
research shows that there is

no functional product on the market, not improving the caring process. Only cans
with spraying and pouring option available, not much have done for the ergonomics,
shape and size.

the interpretation of ikea research, I predict, people will have more plants. As its a
cheapest decoration and fulfill home pioneering as working with disconnection.

İnterviewing with a botanist friend shows watering twice a week is best for 4+
plants. As different plants has different cycles, its good to be there two times a
week.

Brief
My intention is to design a plant starter kit, a easy and fun way to take care of
multiple plants. İts more hipster and geek approach, motivates people to interact
with the plants more often and help them succeed in caring process, produce
satisfaction.

Fun & Functional

Making the product functional and playful at the same time. It will be basically an
adult toy and pro watering tool which can manage 4-15 plants easily at once.

Drawing users attention for watering process is another important aspect. My

intention is to interact the user not only for the job, but to entertain around the
house. Traditional watering cans, bottles and glass easily go unnoticed in the
kitchen, living room. The product aims to make you feel, you were in a mission. Easy
and one time watering will believed to increase the watering habits of people.

Product will focus the subjects below.

• Carrying with one hand is not ergonomic, not comfortable to lift 3-4 liters with one
hand.

• Spilling water on floor is another case, its annoying.

• Easy filling process, can be filled without holding it.

• Freeing the both hands while carrying the product. İts a wearable product.

• Material intent to be environmental friendly ( recycled plastics ) and affordable at

the same time.
