Effect of single parent on the child

Abstract

Single parenting differs from dual parenting in many ways, but the most common difference
is the way in which the parent interacts with the child. In dual-parenting families, the mother and
father usually decide together how to run the household, while in single-parent households is
more likely decided with the children.

Information has been collected through survey. My quantitative approaches were supported by
almost 20 respondents all of them are single parents.

The results were somehow the same since the disadvantages more than the advantages of single
parenting.

Key words: Single parenting, households, children, advantages, disadvantages.

Being a single parent can be hard and lonely. There is often no other adult with whom to
share decision-making, discipline, and financial responsibilities. The full burden of finding
responsible childcare, earning a living, and parenting falls on one individual. However, the lack
of a second parent often has a less negative impact on children than family instability, lack of
structure, and inconsistent enforcement of parental standards.

A lot of people around me, thinks that being a single parent is something special. They said the
kids are going to grow up and realize that their life wasn’t easy. They’re proud of themselves and
it’s something normal. Everybody can take this responsibilities and continue the long journey?

A single parent is likely to face the challenge of how to raise a child on their own. This
might be overwhelming for them, especially when they have lack of time and resources. In this
article, we will explore the reasons behind single parenting, its advantages and disadvantages.
What’s the effects of single-parenting on a child? And what’s the effect of single-parent in the
society?

Reasons of Single Parenting

Effect of single parent on the child

There are many reasons that can lead two partners to be separated and leave all the
responsibilities in the hand of one of them. A single parent is the one who is widowed, divorced
or unmarried. Nowadays, it is just more common for children to be in a single parent family than
a traditional two-parent family. Due to divorce rate, delays in marriage, and those shunning the
institution of marriage altogether, single-parent families are becoming increasingly popular.

Single parenting’s advantages

Talking about the advantages, parents won’t fight in front of the children so they will have
fewer argument and they will make the environment less stressful and make them feel more
secure. As children will learn independence and responsibility because single parents are already
so busy, children should be encourage to be like the member of a team and do some things by
themselves. Feeling part of a team helps children consider others, establish a good work ethic,
and improve self-esteem and self-worth. And it help children to understand expectations easier,
and they can learn a shared responsibility for the life of the family.

Single parenting’s disadvantages

In the other hand there are some disadvantages like the difficulties in the relationships
that the child can face, they usually find it difficult to form successful relationships and to bond
with potential partners of the single parent. As they may feel they have lost a protector or a
guide, this sense of loss could lead to high rates of anxiety and aggression. On addition to many
scholars problems. Based on my point of view, parents and children find some difficult changes,
when they go from being a traditional family to a single parent family. And disadvantages can be
managed. Single parent families can be successful too but it may just require a little more work
than dual-parent.

What’s the effects of single-parenting on a child?

Effect of single parent on the child

There are many positive effects of raising children as a single parent, especially when the
single parent is a woman. Firstly, the bond between a child and the mother is stronger than the
bond between Children and parents in nuclear families. This is because the mother spends more
time with her children and since it is natural for females to take care of their young ones.
Secondly, children who are raised by single parents develop a strong community sense .in my
opinion, Children from single parents’ households tend to be supported more by community
members than those from nuclear families. Young children by single parent families are more
cooperative than those raised in a family structure. They finish up behaving in a more capable
and intelligent way than their peers from other families because they feel it wise to assist their
single parent with domestic duties.

What’s the effect of single-parent in the society?

Single parenthood often is described as exhausting, overwhelming and lonely. As one of the
leading predictors of poverty, single-parenthood leads to financial strain. And many single
parents describe feelings of alienation from society, even in churches where they hope to find
healing. Single parents are less well-off emotionally than married parents; for example, single
parents have higher levels of depression, less satisfaction in parenting and lower levels of
happiness.

Discussion

Single-parent families are different to families with two parents living under the same roof.
There are different reasons why a person becomes a single parent. They may choose this
lifestyle, they may have separated from their partner, or perhaps their partner has died. The
challenges faced by the single parent vary according to their circumstances, but there are also
common experiences that are shared by most single-parent families.

Conclusion
Effect of single parent on the child

A person who is raised by a single parent has more mental health problems and is at an
increased risk for drug use according to research. Single Parenting can often put the kids at a
disadvantage because they are dealing with their own lack of parental love, which may
accompany many feelings of abandonment and rejection on both sides.

unique challenges.

Conclusion
When it comes to family life, everybody endeavors to figure out how the relationship between
guardians and children can ended up perfect. Positive child rearing procedures work well for
raising children with teach and great ethical values, and are each parents’ dream. In any case, it
isn't a simple accomplishment. And it is important to know that the parent child relationship may
be a two-way road, in other words, it is really a association between a parent and their child
