“PROJECT SIYASAT”
Accomplishment Report
Title of the Program/Innovation

I. Introduction
An investigatory project is a project that tries to find the answer to a
question by using the scientific method. Science investigatory projects are
projects that are experimental projects and that answer questions
posed. Science investigatory projects follow the scientific method. To
address the demands of the K – 12 curriculum, it is essential that learners
must be exposed to situations involving scientific inquiry in which they can
apply problem solving.
Thus, “Project Siyasat” is an innovation to provide enhancement
activity for science investigatory project. The Science Department of this
institution aims to prepare students for a full – blown paper of Science
Investigatory Project. The department decided to conduct an enhancement
activity to achieve our goals. This activity is also an avenue to select
researchers who will present our school for higher level competitions.

II. Objectives
The activity aims to:
 Sustain advocacy on social consciousness and environmental
awareness;
 Use skills necessary to turn students into productive and critical
thinkers as well as lifelong learners;
 Consider how the topic extends beyond the classroom into larger
outside world; and
 Prepare learners to the higher competitions.
III. Accomplishments
A. Pre – Implementation Phase
As part of the implementation phase, last January 30, 2017, the Science
department conducted a LAC session together with the Science teachers and
coordinator. This activity aims to present and discuss the proposed activity design of
the “Project Siyasat”. It was discussed and agreed that the students will be grouped
into teams accordingly. These teams will focus on the different Science Investigatory
Project categories in the Division Integrated Competition. Also, it is agreed to
conduct a Science Investigatory Project Seminar to capacitate learners in making
Science Investigatory Project full – blown paper. During the 2-day seminar, students
were capacitated to conduct an SIP to be presented in the Division Integrated
Competition as an entry in the Applied Science and Physical Science Category.
Science Department of Glan – Padidu National High School aims to

capacitate and prepare GPNHS’ students in making Science Investigatory Project.

With this, comprehensive planning was done in order to meet the demands and

needs of the students. The Science Department come up to conduct a seminar –

workshop to capacitate students in the preparation of SIP. The plans have been

realized last April 3 – 4, 2017. Resource speakers from Shalom Crest Wizard

Academy and General Santos SPED Integrated School graced the seminar –

workshop. The resource speakers were Sir Jinnifer Arroyo, Ma’am Eden Grace

Suriaga and Sir Alvin Romualdo. The seminar workshop was participated by twenty

five (25) students of Glan – Padidu Nationahl High School. Each grade level has 5

participants that would represent their level. These students who have potentials to

make SIP were recommended by their respective science teachers.

Day one (1) of the seminar workshop commenced with opening program and

followed with the seminar proper by the speakers. The first topic talked more on

research and the types of research. Followed with the do’s and don’ts of doing

research. The speakers also emphasized on plagiarism and forgery when it comes
to paper making. After the first part of the discussion, the participants were taught to

make an introduction and proper citation. Each group was given the chance to

present their work. The speakers also made corrections and suggestions. During the

presentation, students were commended by the speakers because of their fast

pacing. The speakers gave time to the students to roam around the campus and find

something unusual in which they can create something out of nothing. Students

chose a specimen and created a propose title. They presented the title and was

given suggestions. With the approved title, participants were taught to make a

statement of the problem.

Before day 1 ended, the resource speakers left article and participants were tasked

to make an introduction and statement of the problem and served as their

assignment for the following day.

Second day (April 4, 2017) started with the presentation of their assignments.

This was followed with lecture on methodology for SIP. Participants had hands – on

activity for the methodology and it can be observed that they enjoyed the activity.

Participants were also taught simple statistical treatment such as ANNOVA.

The seminar – workshop ended with a closing programme. Some students

were asked to give impressions. Some of the impressions expressed by the

students were the appreciation to the speakers and to the teachers. Participants are

still in awe because they learned a lot to the seminar – workshop. The speakers also

expressed gratitude to the school for the activity being initiated. The School Principal

also expressed his support to the Science Department in the conduct of Science

Investigatory Project.
B. Implementation Phase
During the implementation phase, different enhancement activities were established.
Science Department of Glan – Padidu National High School aims to capacitate and
prepare GPNHS’ students in making Science Investigatory Project. With this,
comprehensive planning was done in order to meet the demands and needs of the
students. While the school is preparing students for higher level competitions,
specifically the Division Integrated Competition, the Science Department of this
institution come up with the idea to train students for the DIC. An investigatory
project is a project that tries to find the answer to a question by using the scientific
method. Science investigatory projects are projects that are experimental projects
and that answer questions posed. Science investigatory projects follow the scientific
method. Thus, the Science Department of this institution aims to prepare students for
a full – blown paper of Science Investigatory Project. The department decided to
conduct an enhancement activity to achieve our goals. This activity is also an
avenue to select researchers who will present our school for higher level
competitions.
As a result of the SIP Enhancement Program, the Glan – Padidu National High
School won First Place in the Applied Science Category (Team) and Second Place
for the individual category. The coach and the students were able to represent
Sarangani Division during the Regional Integrated Competition at Isulan, Sultan
Kudarat. Moreover, the team was able to join the First Sarangani Applied Research
Festival and declared as the CHAMPION out of 6 papers competing for the grand
prize.

C. Post Implementation

The application of obtained information, abilities, and attitudes to the Project

SIYASAT enhancement program as a Science Investigatory Project Enhancement
Activity is a fruitful innovation for the students. It is intended that after completing this
"project SIYASAT program," students will be better prepared to write a full-blown SIP
paper. To ensure the sustainability of the program, this will be closely monitored and
supervised.
