Strategic Planning in Education

Strategic Communication Plan

I. Executive Summary
Research has always been difficult for most of the students. Most academic
institutions view research as a high-impact educational practice to cultivate vital skills and attitude
through educational practices. These are the reasons why research and research skills should be
integrated in the classroom instruction.
The proposed project is about integration of research skills and research methods in the
performance tasks given in Science Classes. Each of the given performance task will follow the
GRASPS model by Wiggins and Mctighe and anchored to the performance standard of the Deped
Curriculum Guide. The project is only focused on one of the performance tasks per quarter, which
will develop students’ research skills at the same time focusing on real scenario. It is expected that
the students will submit the output at the end of each quarter.
The crafted performance tasks can also be modified by the teachers depending on the needs
of their learners. The research skills embedded in each of the performance tasks are specified so the
teachers are still guided whenever there is a need to tweak the tasks based on the needs of their
learners.
The project’s main goal is to instill among students the research skills which will be of great
help in their learning process. Research helps students restore and protect memory and enhances
their mathematics and problem-solving skills. Therefore, it prepares their mind for a better
understanding of concepts and theories. A person’s learning capacity is improved, and they can
perform better in comparison to those who is reluctant to research.

II. Objectives:
1. To develop the culture of research among students of Francisco P. Tolentino Integrated
High School (FPTIHS).
2. To gradually equip the students with the necessary skills needed in writing research
paper.
3. To produce research paper/ investigatory research project from the different grade level
4. To develop creativity and critical thinking skills among the students.
III. Strategy

STEP 1

Submit proposal of the project to the School Head. The School Head will assign the School Validators, Learning
Resource Coordinator, Experts, Master Teacher, Department Head to be involved in the preparation of the materials, as
well as the schedule of the whole implementation process.
STEP 2

Once approved by the School Head, the School’s Validator’s, Learning Resource Coordinator, Experts,
Master Teacher, Department Head, crafting of the instructional materials, as well as invitation for science
teachers will be done.
STEP 3

The crafted instructional materials will be validated by the School’s Validator’s, Learning Resource
Coordinator, Experts, Master Teacher, Department Head. Revisions will be made based on the
comments/suggestions from the experts. Production of the teacher-made materials will be done right after.

STEP 4

After the validation, the production of the instructional materials will follow. Conduct of the program will be
carried over by the proponent and the science teachers
