ACTIVITY DESIGN ON THE CONDUCT OF DISTRICT-BASED RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM OF THE GRADE 12 LEARNERS AS
THEIR CULMINATING ACTIVITY IN INQUIRIES, INVESTIGATION, AND IMMERSION (3I’S)

I. RATIONALE
In support of the implementation of the K-12 Basic Education Program, the Department of
Education (DepEd) is continuously fulfilling its mandate to produce learners with mathematical, scientific,
and linguistic competence and will become globally competitive.
Today, being globally competitive requires developing global competence. Students must be able to
identify various points of view, comprehend problems, appreciate cultural diversity, and study the world
using problem-solving techniques through conducting research.
This activity design has been crafted to fully support continuing skills learning based on the
principle of lifelong learning and DepEd’s strong commitment to focusing on the development of student's
potential. This activity further aimed to unravel and develop their understanding of research by conducting
a school-based research colloquium.

II. PROPOSED ACTIVITIES

In connection with the above-mentioned activity, the following goals/ targets will be attained:
1. Presentation of their manuscript through poster.
2. Answering questions and giving clarifications.
3. Giving corrections, suggestions, and recommendations in their research.

III. MILESTONE TASKS

For an effective implementation of the above-stated activity, the following are the tasks that need to be
accomplished by the students.
1. Presentation of the Manuscript.
2. Answering questions asked by the panelists.

For the successful conduct of the activity, the following individuals contribute work for the planning and
implementation of the said activity.

VI. TARGET DATE AND VENUE OF THE ACTIVITY

The School-based Research Colloquium. of the Grade 12 students will be on April 30, 2024, and will be held
at the student center of Gigaquit National School of Home Industries, Gigaquit Surigao del Norte.
