II. Activity Summary:

This activity provides every students to learn Science and Mathematics concepts
by actively engaging in the practices of the two subjects; fun games, sharing ideas
with peers, specialized ways of talking and writing, and development of
representations of phenomena.
With the proposed activity, students are expected to gain mathematical and
scientific knowledge and skills through interactive and fun activities that will
capacitate their learning competency.

III. Activity Background:

Expertise in Science and Mathematics is a key to economic progress. Students
should be knowledgeable with mathematical and scientific competencies because
these open doors to critical thinking, financial literacy, and evidence-based decision-
making and highly critical to the improvement of the nation’s economy as it relies on
a workforce proficient in Math and Science.
In the 2018 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), Filipino
learners ranked second to the last in Mathematics and Science from among other
learners in 79 countries. The Philippines also came out last in both Mathematics and
Science. The Philippines also came out last in both Mathematics and Science in the
2019 Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study out of 58 countries.
With the low performance of our learners with those learning areas, we must
design worthwhile activities that will develop their skills and competencies
promoting quality learning process. Education must be meaningful to learners thus,
authentic, holistic, and relevant learning experiences must be provided to them.
With that, this activity is proposed to provide every learner a fun, authentic, holistic,

relevant, and collaborative learning experiences that will promote 21 st century

students equipped with mathematics and scientific skills.

IV. Activity Objectives:

Specifically, this Science- Math Camp activity has the following objectives:
1. To gain mathematical and scientific skills through interactive activities.
2. To provide students with opportunities that broaden and enrich their
understanding of Math and Science concepts through peer interaction.
3. To empower and develop learners to become productive and responsive
citizens through scientific and mathematical activities.

B. Activity Deliverables:
The intended outputs of this activity proposal are the following:
1. Mathematical and scientific skills by the learners acquired through
interactive activities.
2. Developed self-confidence of the students through peer interaction.
3. Developed a productive and responsive citizen through scientific and
mathematical activities.

C. Activity Risk Management

Budgetary requirements of the activity is provided by the school’s MOOE and
through financial outsourcing and donations.

The following proposals were drawn and asking for approval:

1. The camp area would be the school (the rooms and the school grounds).
2. The activity will be made for two days (March 31- April 1,2023).
3. The participants are registered Grade 7 to Grade 12 students and who are permitted by
parents through parental consent. The group will be composed of 8 members.
4. An amount of PhP 30.00 will be charged to the students as payment for the registration
fee.
5. Parental consent should be secured prior to the said event.
6. A request letter will be sent to the Barangay Office to request Barangay Police to secure
the Campsite and assistance during the pageant night.
7. Campers take charge of their food provisions. They should cook their food in the camp.
The Adult Leaders (Teachers) will provide their own food to be prepared with the
assigned committee for food preparation.
8. In case of emergency or disease outbreak, Health Officers should be notified
immediately.
9. Each camper should observe proper use of water for drinking, washing and cooking
purposes.
10. Campers who are not consented to remain on camp overnight should be fetch by their
parents/ relatives.
11. Teachers/adult leaders involve in this activity will receive a 2-day service credits as it
falls after class hours and Saturday.

Pageant Night: Search for Mr. & Ms. Sci- Math Camp 2023 (March 31, 2023 @ 7:00 P.M.)
1. Each camp group will have their at least one pair of candidates for the said event.
2. Prior to the said event a special award for popularity will be awarded to the winning
candidates.
3. The pageant will have three production numbers (sports attire, innovative and Question
and Answer portion). The group will provide the costume with the supervision of their
assigned adult leaders.
4. There will be a panel of judges that will rate the candidates.
5. An admission ticket worth PhP 10.00 will be collected upon entrance to non-registered
students and guests who will watch the event.
6. A crown and sash will be awarded to the winners.
