ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

Activity Title: National Science Month Celebration 2022

Date and Venue: September 5-30, 2022 at Tapaz Integrated School


The vital role of science and technology in building the nation has
been proven many decades since it flourishes. As experienced,
science education in today’s generation was eventually amplified
and primed with modern perspectives. In order for teachers and
learners equipped with quality education, teachers were
encouraged and trained to teach and nurture learners in the
Rationale:
intricacies of technology and communication, creativeness, and
invention. In this way, learners will become inventors and skilled
human resources in the future.
According to Timonen (2020) that education in science aims to
increase people’s understanding of science and the construction of
knowledge as well as to promote scientific literacy and responsible
citizenship. We can use science communication to increase
science-related knowledge among adults, in particular. Popularized
non-fiction books, exhibitions, science events, and science blogs
are excellent ways to improve adults’ scientific knowledge.
Windschitl (2009) also cited that science education reform focuses
on fostering deep content knowledge through active intellectual
engagement and emulating disciplinary practices and thinking, and
21st-century skills focus on developing broadly applicable
capacities, habits of mind, and preparing knowledge workers for a
new economy.
In this year’s Science Month Celebration, Tapaz Integrated School
joins Department of Education to celebrate the said activity with the
theme: “GENESCAPE: Priming Perspectives, Amplifying
Advancements”
Objectives: This 2022 Science Month Celebration will adhere to the Division
Objectives which are the following:
1. understand the importance of science, technology and
environment as vital areas in the nation building especially in
the age of information and communications technology in the
21st century;
2. provide interactive strategies in learning delivery in the
promotion and transfer of Science and Technology to the
grassroots; and

3. complement, supplement and enrich formal science


education through curricular activities to popularize science,
technology and environment among the masses through
various science activities.
